Apparently this was Agatha Christie's debut novel. The character whose eyes you saw the story through, Mr. Hastings, annoyed me a little bit. I believe it was because he didn't understand Monsieur Poirot's way of thinking, which is something you have to get used to. Nonetheless, I still was not a fan of Hastings.
The mystery itself was pretty good. In this edition it gives the option to read two separate endings, Christie's original, unpublished ending or her published ending. I read the unpublished conclusion. Although, I'm unsure why she wrote two separate ones. They both conclude the same, from my observation.
All in all I enjoyed it. Now I can read the picture book version that looks pretty good, which is the whole reason I read the full length novel.

I think thrillers just aren't for me. This is your typical murder mystery. It was entertaining enough and a quick read.
