I love Daria, and penn, I love watching Daria go from a person who does things that are questionable because she thinks her mother cares more about others, to a person who finds herself and being able to forgive and repair that mother daughter relationship slowly but surely, and I loved watching penn going from letting those who are toxic run his life. To removing them from his life and focusing on the one who loves him and is always fighting for him

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I'm late on reading this ARC like most what's new. XD But I'm making it a goal of mine to get to my ARC's and physical TBR this year and with that this is the first of many ARC's I'll be reading. With that being said we are starting this one a little sad. I am DNFing this book 204 pages in. When I requested this book I was super exited to one try out a new author and also try my first ever bully romance and let's just say I was hoping these two 18 year old's acted like me when I was 18 but they aren't they are instead acting like 14 year old's like the day they met and they annoy the shit out of me. I also was not expecting on page SA not even 40 pages into the story with no warning. (Yes can be my fault for not checking tw but it's not something that bothers me much being in a book but does bother me that the publishers didn't make a tw list at the beginning of the book.) But over all the half that I did read I feel like the author did a good job at making the unlikeable character unlikeable but I feel like I'm at the age where I haven't been out of high school long enough to be reading book that take place at one and the character's act not their age. I'm hoping that I will like a different book in this series down the line.

"And that’s what good friends and families do. They pick you up and pull you out of the mud of your own mistakes. And when you’re not the best version of yourself? Well, they’re still there, waiting, because we’re all fucking human."

And these are THE perfect words that describe this book. If you are intrigued by them. READ this book like right now because ... Holy shit! The next generation of Hotholes are here !!! And in Pretty Reckless we meet  Jaimie's Followhill daughter, Daria, and her own hot asshole, Penn. Together they bring the whole package to the table full of lies, secrets, bitchiness, hatred, angst, love, the best friendship relationship, and forgiveness.

L.J. Shen is a master at creating perfect enemies-to-lovers romance with beautiful jerks-hero. Her Sinners of Saint series was THE BEST in this genre I've ever read. I'm very impressed by her imagination because every one of her heroes and their heartbreaking stories are very unique and after reading Sinners of Saint I couldn't wait to see what else she has in her sleeve. With this first installment in her new series, she only proved to me that she is, in fact, a QUEEN.

I can wait to read more about Vaughn and Knight and based short moments in which they appeared, I have a feeling that their stories will be as great and engaging as Daria's.

4/5 ⭐️

I found both characters infuriating half the time, but the story was interesting and kept me entertained until the very end. I think it was hard for me to get fully into this story because although both main characters were 18 years old, they were still in high school and some of the events that took place were hard to wrap my mind around because of the high school setting. But, I absolutely loved the ending and it took my original rating of 3.75 to a solid 4 stars!

DNF chapter 12. Maybe I’ll pick it back up but i don’t think so. I enjoyed the characters but not enough to not enjoy the plot.
