Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 6

4.14 AVERAGE

This was probably the least interesting volume so far despite some big changes.

So in comes Aogiri, Touka's brother, and he's part of the 11th ward. This ward isn't playing, they want complete and utter control. So they come and take Ken. Of course no one is even a challenge for them and off they take away our young half ghoul. The rest of the book deals with Ken and the gang of ward 13 figuring out how to escape while Aogiri and the other evil Ward 11 talk about their next step in the take over.

Good: I enjoyed the fight between Aogiri and Touka. Shit was brutal and fast. The ending was also a nice twist and really fucked up. I also enjoyed the fighting styles and learning which one would win against which.

Bad: The slower pace made it slow down so much it got a bit boring at points. I figured they could have sped up the breakout and also the moment the good guys decide to take a stand.

Overall a solid volume, 3 out of 5, but it could have been better. But knowing what's coming I'm okay with it!

2024 review: I know what's coming in the next volume and it makes me sad and scared for my boy. There's craziness and thirst for blood on both sides.

The 11th ward and all the crazy ghouls in it are the focus of this volume.
The spotlight on Rize's past and her death is getting intense, and I liked Banjou's character. It's too violent, and we get to know a little bit about Touka's life, I'm interested to know more about her.
