I was in a long reading slump this month, and I was scared to start reading this book because I wanted to love it so much. I've never given Brittainy C Cherrry less than 5 stars for 4 of her other books. So the least I could say is the expectation was very high for this one. And it didn't disappoint!

Honestly, the story is not that original. It's been done before. But the writing was so immersive, so beautiful. The characters were so lovable even if the side characters were weirdly described at times, and they did stuff I didn't understand. But I couldn't help but love all the characters, flaws and all. I even felt for the "bad guy" in the story.

  | My favorite quotes:<br>1. "She was the girl who felt everything, and I was the man who felt 0thing at all."<br>2. "The thing was, I didn’t care, because if I’d learned anything from humans, it was that they all lied. I didn’t trust a soul."<br>3. "I wasn’t a man to hope; I was a man who simply existed."<br>4. "He was simply a man who’d been hurt in the past and was slowly opening back up due to the love of his daughter."<br>5." “Have you been drinking again?” I asked.<br>She laughed. “0. This is just me.”<br>“That’s what I was afraid of.” "<br>6. " “Lucille?”<br>“1?”<br>“You make the world a lot less dark.” "<br>7." “You came back to me,” he whispered, his lips against mine.<br>“I’ll always come back.”<br>“0,” he said sternly. “Just never leave again.” "

Half of the time I wanted to slap the characters and other half I was innerly sobbing along the story. It was very powerful shift in Graham and the sisterly relations were as they usually are, balancing on a thinnest of blades inbetween of love and hate.

Solid 4 stars.
Ive been in the longest reading slump- its been going on for 3-4 months now. I was only rereading my favourite books because I wasnt interested or excited for anything in particular. THIS book got me out of that slump though! Read it in 24 hours and I enjoyed it so much. It was a really cute, heartwarming read.

I have to be careful of Goodreads nominations in romance because some of those genres within that genre.
This was not .... it's a no for me.

We're off to an odd start…
"My eyebrows wiggled and my nose scrunched up as I moved on my tiptoes" Mmmmmmm what?
---
This author really loves making the male MC mistreat the female MC. They're always rude and mean. It makes me wish they never ended up together. What's up with making all the women lack a backbone?

Talon?? Really?

Another ending fumbled.
