How Not to Fall in Love is a cute story that is only held back by the agonizing miscommunication between Theo and Harper. If the characters listened the first couple of times you screamed, "JUST TELL HER, DAMMIT" the book would be so much shorter. Which is kind of par for the course with these things but by the end it really felt like things were being painfully stretched out to meet some goal set by outside forces instead of the story's natural flow.

That being said, I adored Harper, Theo, Felix, and Pippa and am happier for knowing them. I really appreciated that there was no push to villainize Felix to get him out of the love triangle and Pippa's ability to roll with the punches was believable and overall just a fun time was had by me. Maybe not all, but definitely me.

But juddering is still a terrible word and needs to die.

This was a cute, entertaining read. The tropes were cute and Theo was all sorts of adorable. I wasn’t a fan of the love triangle (I rarely am) but I loved the characters and look forward to reading more by the author.

I did not realize that this was a YA romance until I was a bit into the story. I might not have picked it up if I had known that because I tend to not enjoy YA books… but maybe YA romance is an exception because this was super cute and fun to read. I had a good time!

I guess YA romance is not for me, best friends to lovers is though, so 2.5 stars

This was cute and a perfect YA rom-com type book. I’m not a huge fan of love triangles or friends to lovers tropes and this included both. But for what it was it was perfect. I felt like the relationships set healthy boundaries and overall were quite good examples for teenagers girls.

The main character Harper was like able even if it was a love triangle. Honestly it was just an enjoyable read and I would recommend to teen girls, but it wasn’t really a YA adults would like too IN MY OPINION.

3.5/5 thank you netgalley for the advanced copy.

For a friends to lovers story, it was really cute! I liked the characters well enough, and the LARPing parts were really fun. But ultimately, we all knew what was going to happen at the end and it felt like we were going through pointless delaying tactics near the end of the book. I will give the book for helping me get out of a bit of reading slump.

I usually really enjoy books like this, but there was something about Harper that I really did not like. And Theo was a little too sensitive and whiny for me. I liked that Harper had a positive, healthy attitude about sex, but at the same time, I didn't really like that sex was her first thought when she realized she liked a guy. I wanted her to wait a bit and see how she really felt about the guy. There were some fun things here but I think there are better romances.
