A quirky Jane Austen meets Agatha Christie mash-up. I liked the retelling and where the author took the story. It is easy to imagine Elizabeth Bennett doing all that she does in this novel if things had been different during this time period. I did want a little more interaction with Elizabeth and Darcy and I think it would have fit the original narrative a little better. I also wanted more closure with the epilogue.

This was a fun and entertaining read. When I picked this up, I thought that it would be set in modern times, but it was still a period piece - however the author did take some liberties, particularly when it came to Lizzie's ambitions for practicing law. It was amusing to see Jane Austen's characters embroiled in a murder case and very satisfying to see some of them get what they deserve. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series.

I really liked this pride and prejudice murder/mystery retelling.

You don't need to read pride and prejudice before this book.
