I disliked this one too. But I won't stop reading comics. I refuse to let a few poor experiences ruin my enjoyment of a new genre. Am I expecting too much? Are all comics like this? I've read some good graphic novels, have I just picked out really good ones? Exceptions to a general rule of style over substance?

Maybe it is just a poor selection by comiXology Originals.

They're not irredeemably bad. Certainly not this one.

The best way to describe this is to say that the blue panels are the best. Everything else is just... Meh...

I loved the concept but it didn't go anywhere. There was a mystery but very little tension or payoff.

Because of the blue panels, this earned one extra star.

The art was good, but pretty images without a strong narrative means I'm going to be disappointed overall. It's just not neat and sharp enough.

Poetry in comic book form. Slightly surreal, I'm not sure how to interpret the ending, but it was beautifully illustrated and texted. Would recommend for a quick read.

This is a surreal, emotional, and often confusing comic about a man awaiting the return of his wife, a performer at a nightclub/jazz bar? during a chaotic rainstorm and flood. There are constantly shifting narratives, and much is up for interpretation.

Haunting, surreal, and surprisingly beautiful. This is a work that strikingly highlights the poetic strengths of the graphic novel form.

Abysmal and with nothing to say. The pretty pictures don't do anything for the narrative.

It's hard to believe that such empty headed 'creators' are now winning the highest awards in the industry.

Utterly without value.

I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure what was going on here, but I liked that about it. This was vague and moody and just kinda happens, and I just coasted along with it. Sometimes, you read something at just the right time and end up vibing with it, y'know? The art is shadowy and mostly dark and has a sketchy feel to it that makes it feel dreamlike; it suits the story well. The story is open to interpretation, and I'm not saying what my interpretation is, I wouldn't want to affect anyone else's thoughts on what the story means. Read this when you're feeling moody and want something weird to mess with your brain for a bit. I can say without a doubt that not everyone is gonna dig this, but I can't think of anything I disliked about it, so it gets five stars from me.
