A great adult continuation of a series that's addicted me for the past couple months!
I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of the book, loving seeing each character and how they've changed over the years between high school and their mid-20s. However, the ending seemed a bit rushed and left me feeling like there was a lot to be desired and I wasn't a huge fan of how sex-crazy Michael seemed to be. I'd always loved him as a character and it seemed as if every part of the book that he made an appearance, he was jumping all over her or making some overly sexual jokes. I don't usually mind that if it seems authentic to the character and the plot but it just didn't seem to fit the Michael that I'd come to know and love throughout the series. I get that it's an adult book so more sex is expected but it's not like sex wasn't present in the other books.
That said, I really did enjoy the book!

plot: Michael and Mia are together and trying to navigate being a longtime couple with paparazzi. Mia's dad is causing chaos and she needs to handle logistics in New York and Genovia at the same time. All while balancing her relationship.
opinion: This was a cute way to end this series. Satisfying and time lapsed to know how Mia ended up once she finally matured.

There were a few things that bothered me about the way the series has progressed but I really loved it overall and I wish Meg Cabot would write more books about Mia and Michael's lives!!!!
funny
medium-paced
I feel like I'm being generous rating this one as a 3.5. Olivia was nice, though, so maybe I'll read her middle-grade series someday!
First half of the book? 5 stars. Second half? 2. It felt rushed and unfinished, and while it was super fun to catch up with Mia, it sucked that it was obviously not Cabot's best work.
Update: In the 7 years since reading, I agree with my original assessment. The pacing was just bad, and the reveals felt rushed. I am interested to read the latest book and see what it is like.

This is just a lot. There's a lot of retcon and it's mostly very annoying. There are some nice moments and I'm not a complete monster.
Well, I had hoped for more. I hate saying that about a Meg Cabot/Princess Diaries book but there it is.
