An extremely fun read with a lot of crazy moments, and it made laugh a lot. I read the first three princess's diaries books but it wasn't that hard to understand. I've read this books like three times and it is a fun time every read!

A+ everything I wanted it to be

This was a really fun, light read. I read all the teen Princess Diaries books in grad school for stress relief, so it was nice to revisit Mia and all her friends. (And I think it totally does make sense for Mia to still be friends with her HS friends, since, as Mia explains, they were the ones who were friends with her before her princess status was ~revealed~). Adult Mia's personality is very similar to high school Mia, which in some ways is charming but in some ways is like... you're 26 and in line to the throne, maybe grow up a little bit??? EHHHH

I also liked how this crossed over with [b:From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess|22718809|From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess (From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess, #1)|Meg Cabot|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1412881103s/22718809.jpg|41355523]. (Although I still contend that there is something weird about Genovia's rivalry with Opressive Middle Eastern Qalif that I cannot quite articulate.)

For me this was borderline between 3 and 4 stars but I ultimately rounded up because Fat Louie lives. #CatLadyReviews Ultimately if you only read ONE fictional royal wedding this summer... I'd have to recommend [b:The Royal We|22875451|The Royal We|Heather Cocks|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1421107274s/22875451.jpg|42439906] instead. Still! This is a lot of fun, especially if you have fond residual memories of Princess Mia. Also it was the perfect light read I needed after [b:Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town|24911006|Missoula Rape and the Justice System in a College Town|Jon Krakauer|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423787030s/24911006.jpg|44518635].

Great end! I like that Cabot went so far ahead, but still told us what happened in those missing years. I'm glad to know how they ended and am wondering if this isn't setting up for a new series!

I love this addendum to the Princess Diaries series, but only gave the audio version 3 stars because I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator. Through the whole series Grandmere has a French accent, and in this book suddenly Grandmere sounds faintly British?! Also, the pronunciation of Lana’s name was not consistent with previous books or the movies. I get that a change in narrator is never going to please everyone, but some general points of consistency would be nice.

This was a good light-hearted read for a snow day. It's been quite a while since I read the original Princess Diaries books, and a pretty long time since I've watched the movie too, so it took some time to get back into the characters and into Mia's world.

As in the past, I felt that Grandma was a pain in the butt, and dad needed to get his act together. Oh yes, and Michael is perfect and I just love him.

In this book, the diversity and feminism seemed to be out in more force than normal, but like I said it's been a while since I read the originals so I just might be forgetting; that, or reading this installment as an adult I just picked up on it more. It's not really a good or bad thing, it was just something I noticed.

The text messages were by far my favorite part, and I do wish I had access to some of these Michael-created emojis.

WOW. NOW I NEED MORE MIA AND MICHAEL STORY.

It' such a happy ending but I need to know their future.
Pleaseee Meg Cabot let us read another Mia's diary.

It's been almost 4 years since I finished reading the last installment of the Princess diaries, [b:Forever Princess|3474186|Forever Princess (The Princess Diaries, #10)|Meg Cabot|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347807104s/3474186.jpg|3515492] and I'd honestly thought that would be the end of this insanely popular series. But evidently not!

Mia Thermopolis is twenty six in this, running a teen community center in New York. She’s still the same hilarious bumbling creature as she was so many years ago. It's a little silly for a grown woman to be messing about so carelessly, but I don't think I would have liked to read about a serious, mature Mia either. It's just one of the things that makes her unforgettable and endearing.

‘Michael never complains when Fat Louie climbs up onto the bed and snuggles with us, even though Fat Louie has gotten quite smelly in his old age, having completely given up bathing (I have to dip him in the bathtub every once in a while or he’d simply never get clean).
Fat Louie, I mean, not Michael. Michael takes two to three showers a day, depending on whether or not he’s done yoga.’

God, she’s still cracks me up!

Also, she’s engaged to the best guy in the world!! Michael Moscowitz! I do not think any fictional character this perfect has ever been created in the history of fictional characters! He's just adorable and amazing and loving and supportive... and a tad unrealistic, to be honest. But still he's one of the best parts of the book as always.

“That’s the worst of it, though, right? There’s no weird secret royal Genovian marriage ritual I have to undergo, do I? Sacrificial scarring? Ritual cutting?”
“Well, you’re already circumcised, so no.”
There was silence from his end of the phone.
“Oh my God, I’m kidding,” I cried. “The first rule of being a royal is that you have to learn to take a joke.”
“The first rule of jokes is that they have to be funny,” he countered.

Another good part has to be Olivia, a surprising new entrant.
SpoilerShe's Mia's long lost younger sister who's being used for her child support funds by her evil aunt and uncle. Well, yet another little girl discovering that she's a princess is a bit excessive for ONE series.

Lars, Tina, Lilly and Lana are absolutely the same. Boris is a superstar. Grandmère is the same obnoxious, hilarious control freak as ever.

The one part I didn’t appreciate that much was the turn in which Mia’a mom and dad’s relationship took.
Spoiler Killing off Mr. G just so they could automatically rekindle their twenty six year stale relationship? I don’t think so. That just doesn’t happen.

Well, I always find [a:Meg Cabot|11654|Meg Cabot|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1197201648p2/11654.jpg]'s writing witty and entertaining and I'm most definitely expecting a sequel.

I had high hopes, but this book disappointed me. Why? Because nothing actually happens in the book. Sure there are a couple of secrets that get revealed, but there's really no plot and the entire 400 pages is basically just Mia's thoughts.

It feels that the book is really drawn out in the beginning and then within the last 50 pages the author is forced to finish it up. This is particularly evidenced by the fact that the wedding isn't even written about! The book jumps and entire month and then just says "Oh yeah, I got married!"

So beware princess Mia fans: this may not be the best read!
