Why re-hash it after such a great series? Why give her a sister?

It's weird Mia and I are the same age again since I got older than her around book 6 or 7.

Which probably made me like it a lot more than I expected/rationally know I should? Because everything about being 25 and 11 months is walking the line from being a Complete Adult Who Owns a Luxury Sedan and I Am Incapable of Talking Out The Trash or Moving From the Couch.

I feel like I'm being generous rating this one as a 3.5. Olivia was nice, though, so maybe I'll read her middle-grade series someday!

Review to come!

I am a huge fan of Meg Cabot and "The Princess Diaries", since it is the series I have been growing up with. When I have heard, there was an 11th part for adults, rather than for children, I bought it straight away. In general, as for the biggest fan of Meg Cabot, I have not regretted it at all - I genuinely enjoyed this book - her writing, sense of humour, Mia's personality.

I must say though that i can see this book, especially this one is not perfect. I am not objective at all in this case, but even for me it was a bit over-complicated at the end and too much has happened. I did not like the ending but it was an amazing experience to get into Mia's world again and go with her through this teeny tiny part of the live she leads. There were moments when I was laughing out loud, as it was after all a really funny book.

For a plus, for the biggest fans though! I also think that someone would have to read previous parts first, to understand Mia's life, her whining character (at times), and her absurd family.

All in all, I enjoyed this revival! I'm glad that it wasn't just about Mia being resistant to Clarice and Genovia trying to control her wedding, Olivia's storyline was great and added something really needed to the novel. Loved Lilly as always though.

Meg Cabot's writing has improved beyond measure in this book. Mia is no longer a whiny teenager but a self-actualized woman. I love the illegitimate child story line and seeing Grandmere again. This book made me laugh out loud several times. Great book.
