The is a rehashed tale with a slight update. You have watched the TV show and the movie. I guess there is a retold lesson in it.

Really cool concept of being able to relive simulations of your life when between Earth and Heaven/Hell but the book was often morbid and depressing. It did really make you think about not having regrets in life and not missing opportunities because you might screw up. She thought she was missing out on so much in life but she actually did make great decisions but often took them for granted and probably the reason she was so depressed and entered the Midnight Library situation. I liked how she was able to write her own story at the end with her childhood librarian who walked her through her library.

This book was so eye opening and made me think about my life. It made me think; why do I have regrets? I only live once and although there are differneces in every single variation of my life, I'll never be perfect in all of them.
This was not what I was expecting, its like trying to romanticize death, but its managed to make a really fascinating concept into something kinda dull… I wanted to love Nora, but she was also kinda like a wet blanket - her words not mine… lol
There are some trigger warnings you should be mindful of, but its not the focus, only the beginning - which is basically a girl unalives herself and ends up in the “midnight library” in-between life and death, where there are an infinite number of lives she gets to try on as she sees fit.
I think the moral of the story is… in the end, all those regrets wont matter and people will never be satisfied no matter what they have. Ultimately I found myself just as disappointed as Nora in this BUT I did think the ending was satisfactory. We all must make the choice to go on, despite the potential for disappointment.
