I enjoyed the book and the connection between the characters. I would find the characters memorable over lovable. There is a sense of darkness throughout the book. What prevented me from going a perfect 5 is the ending. I was not happy with the ending of the book. I felt it could have ended better.

Wow! This was my first 5 star of the year!! I love that it’s Scottish. I love that it’s based off a true story😱

Everything about it was amazing! I really like how the present and past was linked!

Overall I loved the switching and overlapping timelines but I found the ending to be rushed and “too tidy” as if it was just “then they lived happily ever after the end.”
