I am absolutely, positively screaming after finishing this book. The last 100 pages carried even though i didn't love the ending at all. The writing in this is so lyrical and beautiful to read which l loved. Although Ariadne tried to gaslight, gatekeep, and girlboss, the moral of the story is the world is better without men.

Erm wow. I didn't expect to love this as much as I did. It was, ngl, a cover buy (I mean look at it, can you blame me?), but the writing is just as beautiful as the cover. I'm in love with Ariadne and her sister Phaedra and the whole book just feels like an ode to women.

I love the constant reflection, their faults and their growth throughout. I love the ending, so fittingly tragic yet beautiful. This will stay with me for a long time and I am so glad of it.

It begins with many descriptions of backstory, almost all of which involve events of sexual and misogynistic violence. They're all from various myths I'm familiar with, but it was too much at once for me.

Jennifer Saint's writing is so unique and interesting, I loved this feminist retelling, and despite it obviously a difficult task to tell a tale of a woman from Ancient Greece positively or in a way that doesn't end in despair, I really enjoyed this different perspective. I'd say the tale of the Minotaur is one of the most well known from Ancient Greece but this made it feel new - very excited to read Elektra!

This was very good.
I absolutely adored the writing style; it was so beautiful and lyrical.
I also loved how Ariadne & Phaedra were described and how their stories were told.
