5 Laugh out loud stars for Leddy Harper's, Return Policy. This story had me laughing so hard that I had to stop reading to wipe the tears before I could continue. I can't wait to read all these #MomFail stories.
5 stars for Sweary Mom by Carina Adams. This was not only funny but could have also been taken out of moments of my real life.

UPDATE: I have added a third and fourth story that I read in the anthology.

I have read two of the #MomFail short stories and I couldn't stop smiling through them. Both of them showed the reality of what real life is like, especially for a working mother.

1- How Spoiled is Rotten? by Stephanie Rose: Stephanie told a story of how she felt she failed her son by not getting her son to school on time and not volunteering like the other moms. Because we all know those pesky overachievers who are perfectly put together and never do anything wrong!

2- The Professor and the Doofus by JA DeRouen: This tells the story about lessons she has learned and the influence her son has had on her. I especially got a kick out of her second lesson about being a nurse and trying to take care of your child. As the child of a nurse, I related well to it!

3- Battery Operated by Stephie Walls: Ok, I so can relate to the beginning of this story! I AM that aunt who buys all the kids in my life the loudest, most obnoxious toys. Because I can! Stephie had been that person before she had kids. It backfired later on, you know because payback and all! This is humorous and relatable!

4- Your Mom Does What? by Faith Andrews: This was funny. While I could predict what was going to happen, I had to finish this. It was like watching a train wreck! We've all been embarrassed by our parents at one point, but maybe not quite this spectacularly! But I need an update about what happened with Mr. Hottie?!?

These short stories are something that all moms (at least those who are honest) can relate to. Nobody is perfect. But we keep striving for greatness anyway.

This was a fun read! I'll add to this as I read more-

Ok so I don't have kids, I am ok with that. This book did not in any way convince me that I need to have kids. All in all, I loved the stories and definitely laughed out loud so many times. I've always loved hearing funny stories from my friends and family who have small children and my bff has let me in on some of her own mom fails. I love that this book doesn't paint parenthood out to be sunshine and rainbows and organic food and blah blah blah.

I haven't read all the stories, so I will not write a full review. I expected a few more fiction stories. But a few really made me laugh out loud. They are just a little too short to keep me engaged. I think if I were a new mom I really would have loved it more, I read mom-coms like crazy then.

Everyone who has ever been tasked with the job of being a mother has had their moments of failure. Things will inevitably go wrong at some point when you have children, resulting in a momfail. However, looking back you realize that everything happens for a reason and you did the best that you could at the time. No mom is perfect, and these 24 moms have come to remind you in some hilarious ways that we have all had our momfail moments, so let's enjoy them together!

These moms share fails from everyday to epic. From story to story, I went from knowing the exact feeling because I've been there to laughing my butt off simply because I'm not there yet. These 24 short stories will resonate with any mom, caregiver and will prepare any mom-to-be for the inevitable foibles in motherhood. Some of my favorites dealt with pooptastrophies, swearing children, trying to have intimate time with your husband and the days that are just plain disastrous. Two stories that I will highlight are "What's That Smell?" and "Battery Operated." These had me dying of laughter. "What's That Smell" tackles not only the hazards of flying with children but what happens when they poop in an enclosed space, I couldn't imagine having to live this situation and coming out unphased. "Battery Operated" is the life lesson of revenge for gifting annoying toys and will probably be something heading my way at some point in the future. Overall, a perfect anthology for any mom, especially if you think you aren't doing enough or constantly failing, we feel you, just read a story and drink some mommy juice.

This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

I read Your Mom Does What?! By Faith Andrews. As a mom I totally connected with the mom and how her oldest daughter is at that age where eye rolls are happening every other minute. The story had me laughing all the way through. Can't wait to read the other stories!

description

Review of I win by Dylan Allen.

It was a short, fun, light summer read. Even though I never been married or have any kids, I could still relate to the character in the story. I think the things the author went through could happen to me because I would handle certain things the same way. I also loved the "I don't care" attitude. There will always be people judging and at a certain time in your life you need to put those opinions aside. I think Dylan Allen has many funny stories to tell, and I am really curious to what else she has been through. I can't wait to read the other short stories in #MomFail.

Review for Return Policy by Leddy Harper

Romance is my thing, venturing outside of that is rare and mostly unsatisfying.
This story was anything but... Being a mom myself, I felt normal, finally there's someone out there that understands the wonderful mess that is momhood.
I laughed until I cried, until my sides hurt.

If you're looking for,a good laugh and some normalcy READ THIS. Can't wait to read the rest.

I read How Spoiled is Rotten by Stephanie Rose first and it was hilarious! I'm not a mom yet but I can relate to my childhood. I seriously needed this laugh and I'm off to read the others in the anthology. Lots of great authors in this anthology!
