Me ha encantado!!!
Ya había leído un libro de Dickens y pensaba que este también se me iba a hacer súper denso y pesado, pero nada. Cortito, con enseñanza y te deja con una sensación calentita en el pecho.

This is a book that everyone hears about and has probably read or watched many times. I had managed to avoid both until now.

After all I had heard about it I wondered if I would recognise much of it as I read. There was some that as I did recognise much of the storyline and characters and that made to feel like I had read it before. But on the whole I found it disappointing. I did not find it as interesting or moving as many have said. While I cannot say I did not like it I also cannot say that I really enjoyed it.

It takes a strange place of one of those books that actually did not make much impact on me. Maybe I need to reread it in the future or better yet listen to it as an audio book.

The best thing about this book is that I know know where some of the sayings come from and that I can say that I have read the book.

Personally, I rate books on my enjoyment of the story, and not necessarily the story itself. This book gets two stars because, not going to lie, I was pretty bored. This is not a testament to Dickens or his writing style. I just don’t tend to enjoy classics lol.

I love the story if A Christmas Carol though, but I personally prefer to watch this story rather than read it.

2022

A pleasant read for the holidays, I quite enjoyed it. The quintessential Christmas story and birth of Christmas as we know it. My favourite version across all media remains The Muppets Christmas Carol.

Original

Could be the first time I have read this, seen all the popular adaptations but can't remember if I have read this before. I pictured Michael Caine and Muppets in my mind.

A shorter book than I imagined and the movies are literally a carbon copy of this, quite true to the text. My only nitpick is the ending is sudden.

Enjoyable read never the less.

Re-read for Pantomine season!

A classic. Interesting perspective, good moral, but not overly thrilling.

I've read this book many times and seen countless adaptations, and yet the story always gets to me. It's beautifully written with a timeless message.

I re-read this today as an audiobook and found it more enjoyable…probably because Tim Curry was a great narrator. I decided to raise my rating to 4⭐️s.
