Iconic story that you definitely have read, seen or listened to in some way or other.
I have seen the muppets version, the flintstones and disney versions. But I have never read the original book.
Oh boy what a book. The language is flowing like poetic water. And it flows so easy from chapter to chapter. In just a few sentences all of the characters jump at you from the pages and makes you cry and smile. It truly is a masterpiece.
“There are some upon this earth of yours,” returned the Spirit, “who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name, who are as strange to us and all our kith and kin, as if they had never lived. Remember that, and charge their doings on themselves, not us.”

A nice little Christmas story and good reminder to always be kind. However, I did not enjoy this style of writing at all and I found it unnecessarily wordy… to the point that some parts became a bit confusing.
I do love Tim Curry -- and this was a lovely rendition of A Christmas Carol. It had been quite a while since I'd read it back in the day, so listneing to this was a real treat. I will always treasure this story and Charles Dickens' prose is thoughtful, lovely, and poetic. I look forward to listening again in years to come.
Very good book although I can not understand it very much due to 1800s English. But that is more of my problem.

I truly love The Christmas Carol, and rereading this was an absolute joy. I have loved Charles Dickens’ writings since I was younger. This novel is full of nostalgia, but also holds wonderful tales of how important the “true meaning of Christmas” is. It’s not about Santa or buying the newest product, but rather about comprehending the importance of family and friendship and portraying that love through quality time, kindness, & gift-giving.
Well what can I say? The book is a classic and since it's such a nice story I wouldn't mind reading it every year. It always gets you in a christmassy mood and reminds you of the importance of having a kind heart. Also I really like Dickens' writing style as well as the lessons he wants to teach with his books.
