ngl I read this to beef up my reading goal. it's a classic and I don't really have anything to say about it lol.
I did a lot of “Leo pointing” in my head as I read it, and was surprised to see that so much of what is cut from adaptations is cut consistently and justifiably. Though I would very much enjoy seeing the second Belle scene and Scrooge patting the door knocker show up.
Also, was Yet To Come thrilled that Scrooge was so dense he got to show him everything he wanted to, or was he increasingly annoyed that he had to show Scrooge his literally engraved tombstone before he realised he was the dead asshole?

I read this book for the first time (all the way through) just this year, 2009. I don't know why it took me so long...oh yes I do! At the end of the year you hear of this story everywhere you turn. I had heard that the dialogue and narration in movies and plays is almost word for word of the book. But the difference in the book from what I've observed and enjoyed is the pace at which you get through it. A play and movie are 2 hours tops, but with a book you can take your time, re-read the good parts, underline and even copy the quotes in personal notebooks. That's one reason I enjoy a book so much more. This one is a must-read.
