I finally read it!

It was a lot easier to read than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed it. I know the story well, as many of us do, but nothing beats the original descriptions of a Dickensian Christmas and the clear depiction of enotional turmoil in Scrooge, without it being too intense.

I love this book. I fully recognize that it's trite, I see that the Cratchetts and Tiny Tim are poverty porn designed purely to pull on my heartstrings--and still it works on me every time. I had an old dollar store copy of this book when I was a kid that I read all the time. Coming back to the original text I love it as much as I always did.

All hail the original Hallmark Christmas movie.

Scrooge is a gay icon and no one can change my mind

After actually reading this and seeing how witty and silly the narrator is, Gonzo and the Muppets were the perfect cast for the film adaptation! No other version exists! Long live The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)!
