*Edit: first reread May 2021. Original review still stands; in this one and the last one I did feel like I was missing a couple things in the plot that were confusing to me or things I wanted to understand better, but it’s entertaining as a soap opera and that combined with the characters and their relationships makes me not mind any threads I might be missing.

Original review:
I’m crying UGH!! With the back half of the series, things are starting to connect and come to light that are blowing me away. New things happen in each book that give me goosebumps and are making me devour these books with the plot twists. The angst and anticipation of each book and the way the relationships only continue to get better and stronger is so fucking good. Each book has its own separate plot but slowly, bit by bit, little things are revealed that start to expose a larger plot threading through the whole series and what it’s been leading up to. Even though it’s not the best written series in the world it doesn’t matter because the characters are so strong and emotional! I’m so sad there’s only one more book after this, I don’t want this journey to end.

But this book did make me want to read the Sidewinder series (which I feel like I maybe should have read the first one before I read this one but it doesn’t bother me too much) so I have that to look forward to. I just don’t want to say goodbye to Ty and Zane.

I was very apprehensive going in based on friends reviews, but it is a solid four stars for me.

I've decided to change the rating of this book from 5 to 4 stars, because of the frankly silly mystery plot.

The 4 stars are solely for Ty and Zane's romance and the Nick and Kelly cameos because of they're so cute.

This will be short:
I loved:
- Ty and Zane
- Kelly and Nick
- Ty and Nick really reconciling
- The "Marry Me" angle
- The steam because HAWT. Especially the fireplace one.

I want to cry that ending was beautiful. I laughed at how many times it had to be said but finally he got it right.
This series has been soooo good so far and I can't believe I've only one more book.:( I'm going to try read the last one slowly but I know that's not going to happen. I need answers and I need Liam Bell to die right now. Poor Nick, I don't even want to know what situation Bell is going to put him in, but I have a bad feeling. We got into a lot about Nick in this book and it really made me feel for him. Nick was one character I never expected to like but here I am nearly in tears over everything he went through. His friendship with Ty is beautiful and I really hope whatever Bell gets him into it won't affect it or his relationship with Kelly ( so cute btw) but like I said I got a bad feeling. This book was brilliant though and I loved the suspense around everything that was happening, the story kept me entertained and the side characters were amazing as always.

After that touching plot and development in Stars and Stripes, and that agonizing yet satisfying development in Touch and Geaux, I honestly believe there could never be anything better than those two books.

It's hard for me to start this book at first because, I don't know, I don't feel emotionally connected to any of the characters at least until halfway through the book. It is still a fun read, but I think it could be better especially about the writing. I adore Nick and Kelly, but after the sixth and seventh book I find myself not caring much about their relationship because I am far too attached to Ty and Zane to give a damn about anybody else haha

Anyway, it's kind of sad. I know after this book, Crash and Burn will be the last book and I just get the feeling it will be a calm book just like this one. I missed going on an adventure with Ty and Zane already even though it's not even the end yet.

I'm still glad I picked up this series. It teaches me a lot of things about how to face your demons and how to accept help from those who actually care. I feel like a different person, a better one, and I'm glad to walk another day with my chin up the way the characters in this book do.

Now give me a minute to be sentimental and sappy ;-----;

Loved it

I don't understand the bad reviews I saw for this! The book was at times charming, funny, chilling and heart wrenching. A lot of criticisms I saw said that this book was more about Kelly and Nick than Ty and Zane, which really isn't true at all. Kelly and Nick are wonderful, important characters, but the real stars of the story are Ty and Zane, as always, and I feel like you'd have to be a pretty dedicated Nick/Kelly hater to think otherwise.
As for the book itself - I loved seeing Ty and Zane be completely open and affectionate with each other, and we got to see more of Ty handling the consequences of his unconventional morality and how it affects those close to him. My only complaint is that I would really have liked to see more of the Grady's and Livi - I don't think Mara had a single line in the book which is a shame, because I love her.
Overall, I found the book extremely compelling and emotionally satisfying to read, and I can't wait for the next one!

Ty and Zane attend Deuce's wedding, rebuild their relationship while stumbling upon dead bodies. There's a lot going on, and not nearly enough of Ty/Zane, given all the angst previously. I liked Nick/Kelly fine but there's WAY too much of them. But what we got of my favs was great. I loved their sexy reunion, there's good effort on reconnecting, and they really worked at their issues.

There's constant reaffirmation of their love, and their affectionate moments really left me wanting for more. Ty's proposals are epic AND sweet, and I was all 😭😍 when Zane finally accepts. The mystery and sleuthing are mostly fun, though it got messy at times, and Ty and Zane should never go on vacation again (dead bodies galore). At end of it, we got Ty/Zane finally at a good place where they know nothing can ever break them apart, which was what I dearly wanted from this book.

I was very disappointed by this installment in the series.
I really enjoy these books, they aren't very good, but they always get a 4-star rating mostly because of the characters and the romance, which are fantastic.
However, this was very much a plot-focused book, and it wasn't a well-written plot, so I was just bored for most of the second half of the novel. I didn't have a problem with the bigger role Nick and Kelly got in the story like other reviewers have because I like them as characters, I like their relationship and their spin-off novels.
I will continue with the series, I'm way too invested at this point, and I loved how this book ended.
