Wow, what a great story! What woman wouldn't want to have a Beck for themselves. I've read almost every one of Ms. Grants books and they just keep getting better and better! I love the humor, the craziness, and the all out swoon affect. I also think this book is a little different from her other stories as you actually don't get any hard core sex. Just a ton of passion and desire up until almost the end of the story, and hey, there is nothing wrong with that! I also loved this story because it helps remind us that none of us are perfect and that we are all beautiful in our own ways. What one person perceives as beautiful may not be what someone else perceives as beautiful but that we shouldn't condemn each other because of that. I could go on and on as to why I love this story, glimpses of past characters, glimpses of up and coming characters (as well as MAYBE (??) hints as to who's with who), etc. But I'll just end with take a chance on this book. You most definitely won't regret it! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

Every so often, an author creates "the character," the guy or girl in the book that sticks with you for a long, long time. Ladies and gentlemen, we have that character, Beck Ryder. I wasn't too sure reading the blurb for this book. A former boyband underwear model? I got a sense of the manchild in Flirting with the Frenemy and could detect a heck of a sense of humor. So when this book started with him getting flipped off by strangers and bombed by yoga bricks, the giggles began.

What a guy! He loves Firefly, his favorite character is Wash (curse you and your sudden but inevitable betrayal), playing with plastic dinosaurs, and a reverence for the Serenity. I believe he's got hobbit in him. No one eats that many meals a day without being at least being descended from a hobbit. This book is a real love letter to all the geeks out there. Those who keep cardboard cutouts of themselves around for shock value, keep Firefly on repeat from Netflix, have toys on hand for the little kids who drop by and still love playing video games even though they are supposed grown-ups. Beck is loveable, fun, funny, and the kind of guy you want for your best friend.

Sarah is fun too; she's quieter about it. She OWNS a replica of the Serenity. She's a science nerd (girl science nerds are the best; my daughter is a Physics major), she has a collection of comic books, and blogs and tweets about her passions. Sarah is cool. Sarah is the kind of girl you want for your cool best friend.

Getting to watch Beck and Sarah fall in love was pure unadulterated fun. I did not want this story to end. The food fights, tasering, giggles, snorts, baseball games, giraffes, and snacks were delectable. Beck's friends and family make you want to immerse yourself in them and hang out. They are a blast; please tell me we will get stories about the rest of Bro Code?! Pretty please.

After the first book and though I enjoyed it I didn’t love it but I was curious about Beck so I thought why not give this one a go. I am so glad I did because I loved this one.

Some of the parent antics were out there but overall the story was fun and funny. The character connection was steamy and I just really enjoyed the whole thing.

The narration was FANTASTIC, Erin and Jason killed it and brought these two to life.

I even enjoyed the secondary characters so much I went searching to see if Pippa wrote Charlies/Tripp/McKenzie (I think that was Sarah’s best friend’s name.)

Only to find out Tripp’s book was next so yep I got that one too and already started it.

FINALLY, after reading hundreds of romance novels, I’ve stumbled on a book with a heroine who has had fantastic sex before. I’m SO SICK of the virgin trope, the “not a virgin but so inexperienced won’t you teach me” trope, the “never been given an orgasm by a man before” trope, and all the damsel in distress in the bedroom tropes. Plenty of guys are great in bed but that doesn’t make them the hero of your particular book, and. That’s. Okay.

So this one has a fairly serious bullying/cyber bullying theme, but the book still manages to be lighthearted. It was kinda insta-love, but had great backup for it - each character has real reasons for falling in love with the other’s personality, and not just riding an emotional high from sex and calling it love. I loved the side characters, including Sarah’s dad, who is a little over the top but in a funny way.

I don't know why I wasn't as into this one as I was into many of the other books by Pippa Grant. In general I get bored with the rich people romances in general. Beck or Sarah/Serendipity aren't even that annoying. Honestly it might be me, I haven't really been in the mood for reading lately.

It feels mean to rate it a 2, but I feel like "it was ok" sums it up. For me, for now.

This book unfortunately committed one of my least favorite taboos: the ugly female scientist. The FMC is smart and therefore doesn't know how to take care of herself? She's nerdy so naturally she can't comb her own hair or dress in anything besides a graphic t shirt? As a female scientist this trope really grinds my gears. It's a nice sentiment in a romance book to have the MMC "not care" what she looks like, but we truly get the impression that this woman is low key disgusting. There are frequent jokes about her not showering, not brushing her hair, not wearing professional clothing when the setting calls for it- and I just didn't find it charming in the least. Then they top it all off with the "OMG she put on makeup and a dress" BS that I truly just can't even begin to unpack.
Overall, story was cute. I just found the way the FMC was spoken about to be... off putting.

“She’s like Medusa crossed with a Peter Pan mermaid. Half scary as hell, half adorable.” That quote right there makes you know that you are in for a sensational rom com!! This book is a unique storyline that is so amazingly intriguing, that I couldn’t put it down after the first chapter! Beckett and Sarah will capture your hearts in every way! A model running an empire and your geeky girl next door. A true American storyline!

It is definitely a super slow burn romance but you’ll be too busy smiling and laughing to even realize it! The dialogue, conversations and flirty banter in this book are so incredibly good that I promise, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear until the last page! Oh and did I mention, swooning over Beckett Ryder’s rambles or loving Sarah’s strong willed nature and bluntness. The writing of the characters in this book is pure RomCom gold! So good!!!

My favorite duo, Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon, yet again performed a masterpiece! They did an incredible job with the dialogue in this book as they conveyed each and every line perfectly! They completely captured Beckett and Sarah’s characters while also making me laugh out loud with how they delivered the conversations! A fantastic narration!
