Cute, sweet story - especially at Christmastime.

Just didn't pull me in like Colgan's Bookshop on the Corner did (that was a five star read for me!). There were so many misunderstandings between characters that I started skimming towards the end. And the perspective occasionally changed from one paragraph to another which was confusing.

Listened to this one on audio…and I almost stopped listening. It was so much better than I expected, Carmen just seemed like a brat at first! But I’m so glad that I finished it! Super fun story set in an amazing location!

Really cute!!! I enjoyed it a lot. I can’t wait to start the second one.

This was a sweet and super Christmassy read!

It almost felt like a slice-of-life book, but did have plot and character development to mark the story. At the beginning, Carmen irritated me a little, but, in true Hallmark-ish style, she grew and felt relatable by the end.

The Edinburgh backdrop was so charming with all of the little shops, snow, Christmas fair, and decorations!

The romance was super sweet and slightly more complex than a typical romcom. I appreciated that it was a side story to the relationships between Carmen and her sister, the nieces and nephew, and Mr. McCredie who owned the bookstore she worked at. All of these friendships warmed my heart!

I'd recommend this to people who enjoy:
•home renovation shows
•cozy winter nights
•resolutions to low-stakes family drama
