I love to read books that are set in the season that I’m reading them in, but the trouble with books set during the holidays is many of them are romances (gross). While the story does include romance, it does not overwhelm the story. The characters were great, and the author really made me feel as though I were standing in the middle of Edinburgh.

After 25 straight fantasy books, I needed a little easy palette cleanser and this delivered. Super quick read, with a charming plot, setting, and characters. Lived vicariously through my dream of owning a bookshop, this time in Scotland.

A book that took me a while to read but the ending was worth the time.
A story about a girl who get fired from her job and find herself with no choice but to return home to her mother and her perfect sister feeling broken ashamed and embarrassed from all the failures she had, she couldn't beat her perfect sis, and things start from here when her sister get her a job to save a bookshop and that she didn't know about it first, but then u can see her getting to know Edinburgh nature people and how things work there, and how she puts everything she learn in making this shop work, while meeting two men that mkes her wonder which one to choose to love as she was torn between the rich fancy man that can giver her whatever she wants but she needs to take care of him like a baby or the man that is independent a bit different young and warm where her heart would stop.
while all of the love is happening the relation between her sister, her niece, and her mother grow to be better and better until they resolve everything and they just get back together, and when all the jealously is gone and the happiness is there christmas is her with a smile on everyone's face.
it taught me how to look into tje relationship and not to judge anyone easily and that I have to believe in my power and that evrrything will be okay at the end somehow. so don't worry and just live happily

The first half of this book had me thinking for sure 5⭐ because I loved Carmen's relationship growth with her sister and the kids, and I mean... a bookshop! But the 2nd half was a bit disappointing. I definitely enjoyed it, but it wasn't nearly as riveting as it could have been. A very cute story still!

Good light hearted holiday read. Characters are well done. The imagery of Edinburgh is well written to the point I felt I was back home there. Great read leaves you with a good feeling and a laugh at the end.

Loved the story and setting. First time reading a book by this Author but I will be reading more
