Funny!
Kept me thoroughly entertained and wanting read. Really funny, but not over the top self deprecating funny. I liked it.

This book is amazing! Amy writes candidly, fluidly and you can't help but crack a smile... or sometimes an out loud giggle. It's a very easy read. Something you can pick up and just read a chapter at a time or you can be like me and read it nonstop.
Amy REALLY surprised me here. i love comedy books, but i was never super in love with her and only read (listened to) this because it was available on libby. as it turns out, she is really an intelligent and thoughtful human, and seems to have a pretty decent grasp on how stupid it is to be a celebrity without having to complain about it.
of course, like most celebrity books, it's just a memoir of her life, a lot of which looks like yours or mine. but at the same time her thesis that we have all fucked up, continue to fuck up, and will fuck up in the future, is presented in a way that is so genuine, and not just a gimmick to make her seem 'normal' to us plebes.
also, i usually get tired of the humor toward the end of comedy books, but i was truly laughing out loud to the very end of this one. get the audio version!!!

I could not put this book down! Amy's book was hilarious, but also very raw and real at times. She had me laughing out loud, but also tearing up at some of her stories about family and past relationships. Amy truly bared her entire and true soul in the pages of TGWTLBT. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed reading Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, or Aziz Ansari.

She's hilarious, vulnerable, and completely unafraid. I loved how she learned to welcome failure and found it freeing. And her work on common sense gun reform with everytown earned my admiration.
Fearless and unapologetic. Calls out the societal double standard regarding expectations for ‘female’ behavior. The vulgarity (e.g., vaginal odor descriptions) is perhaps a bit much for my boomer generation, but just roll with it. It’s Schumer’s hammering that is going to break down the Madonna/slut shaming paradigm.
