After finishing this book, I am not well. Reese is the kind of book boyfriend that sets the bar so high for others and I am all for it. Reese and Callie met the summer before starting college and have been best friends since. Reese is now an NHL hockey player and Callie is a 3rd grade school teacher.

Callie's been single for a year now, with an ex that really hurt her confidence, going as far as telling her he was breaking up with her because she's bad in bed. She's even reading romance novels to try to learn some tips and tricks for her next relationship.

Reese's (now ex) girlfriend, Sienna, broke up with him about 6 weeks ago. Since she works for the legal team for the hockey team, they still see each other. After one of his games, he's at the bar with some friends and runs into Sienna. They talk for a bit and Reese blurts out her seeing someone to prove he's moving on. When Sienna asks who, he gives the first name that comes to his head without thinking it through. Callie.  After seeing Sienna's response to this news, Reese comes up with an idea to get Sienna back.

Suddenly the Reese and Callie start fake dating, hoping their friendship isn't compromised. Callie writes out the rules so they can ensure this doesn't happen. Reese tells her he's indebted to her and will do anything to pay her back. An apartment fire later and Callie !moving in with Reese while repairs on her residence are done, Reese learns Callie is a romance book reader and her reason why.  He assures Callie she is beautiful enough and more than likely enough in the bedroom. Before Callie can think, she proposes Reese give her lessons so she's more experienced going into her next relationship. He doesn't hold back when telling her he will help her.

We all know "friends only" and "can't develop feelings" never follow those rules but this book has a great twist on what transpires during the agreement period. Callie is such a wonderful person. She's a great friend and a kind soul. She struggled with her self worth because of her loser ex, but is trying to sort through that damage. Too bad when the relationship between the two of them is exposed, the keyboard warriors are ruthless and remind her of all the lies her ex spewed her way.  This is when Reese really steps up to the plate and I just melted.

I loved the first book in this series but this one topped that. I plan to dive I to book 3 very soon. I won't be surprised if it also hits all the marks. I feel like Nikki can't go wrong with any of the books in this series.
