This was a cute and happy ending. I overall really enjoyed this series. There was some unnecessary drama in the middle, which could've been solved by talking and explaining - however, these are teenagers. I understood where Kou was coming from with his decisions, but his executions were not really healthy and thought through for the most part. Futaba helped him a lot, but he decided to take responsibility in a situation where nothing was his responsibility, hurting her. Futaba, though sweet for the most part, also made a huge mistake in my opinion by trying to forget one guy with another. This pretty much never works. I liked Kikuchi, but also the pressure he put on Futaba so shortly after having her heart broken was not good at all. I understood his motif, but still. The friendships and general growth these characters went through were really lovely and nice to follow. Definitely not a series without ups-and-downs, some unnecessary twists-and-turns and some childishness. But it was enjoyable and fun altogether.

I loved this series, but I think it fizzled a bit in the end. I loved how Strobe Edge ended; Ao Haru Ride's ending didn't really feel like one. In fact after reading it, I didn't realize it was the end. I figured it was just an end to a chapter and I was waiting for the next chapter to come out. Just found out today that it actually ended where I left off.

I still love this series, but when I first started this series I thought I would end up loving it more than Strobe Edge. The first half of this series is just perfect, but towards the end it just kind of lost momentum. Still a favorite series and I still love the anime and want to see the live action. Also, there's a side story at the end where there is a crossover moment with Strobe Edge that is super cute.

Done and dusted!

This volume tied off any loose ends like... What was to happen to Shuko Murao.

And what would Kou & Futaba's relationship be like now that they're finally together.

Oh and, we finally know Kou's black cat's name. He calls it Yoshioka! That's cute because he tried to play it off casually by saying that the cat eats a lot. But honestly.... I could imagine him confiding in the cat when he's alone & going through a rough time.
