This book owns my entire soul!!!! I would give my favorite snack to be able to reread this for the first time. Demon!!!!!! Angry, mean, vicious!!!! I want him in all that he is…. Dream was given to Demon as a prize to settle a debt between her brother and his brother. It was meant to be a 30 day time period. However emotions was doing their thing and for him, despite being able to express in words what Dream had begun to mean to him, he showed it in all the ways that he felt mattered. No one could touch or hurt her and not suffer the consequences. I have never wanted a more toxic man in my life !!! Lol I loved this book and I need more !!!

I really thought this book was a great read and I would definitely check out works by Elle Kayson again, but there were some things left to be desired.
Firstly, when Dream confided in Dayana that she was going to abort Demon's baby because he was aggressive, lead a dangerous lifestyle, and was emotionally negligent towards her, I felt that Dayana should have been supportive in her sister's decisions regardless of her own personal feelings. ESPECIALLY since Smoke tore the whole city down to hunt Jordan because he was trying to get Dayana to marry him when that wasn't what she wanted. She had the perfect opportunity to stand up for Dream because she could relate to her in that way, but by telling Demon (who came and essentially forced her to stay pregnant) Dayana betrayed her instead.
With the romance between Dream and Demon. I absolutely understand the hard exterior that was created towards the beginning of the book, and it was one of those things that made me enjoy their romance. But I feel like his character development started a little too late in the book. To me, starting it earlier would have given us the opportunity to see a Demon who had a soft spot for Dream (it would have been wonderful to see them communicate better and work through their emotions a little more and actually fall in love with one another. It felt a little forced) even if he was still tangled up in his lifestyle. But instead, his dynamic with Dream was very dismissive and leaning towards the abusive side. As a person who loves some Demon I know he would never!

Hey, so those people online who say they can't explain it but it's amazing? Totally true. It's like two books in one, following two couples closely. You won't like Demon at first—major red flag—but he gets better, maybe yellow flag by the end, and you'll end up loving him. Great plot, great spice, and even though it's 700+ pages, it flew by. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it wrapped things up nicely...leaving you wanting more! A few parts weren't my fave, but overall, highly recommend it.
This was my 1st book by this Author, it was more than I expected. There were so many twists, turns, and love in these pages. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be che king the rest of her catalog.
The song that comes to mind when I think of this book is Soldier by Destiny’s Child especially the lines “I need a soldier. That ain't scared to stand up for me…know some soldiers in here (Where they at, where they at)
Wouldn't mind takin one for me.” That was Damien, honey! He would’ve done anything for Dream & I loved to see it. He did piss me off with the way he was in denial about his feelings for her. Apart from the romance aspect, Damien really suffered a lot during his childhood & it was so heartbreaking; his mom can catch these hands. I enjoyed seeing Dream’s journey with people pleasing & finally living for herself; her dad too can catch these hands
Elle Kayson did her thing with this book. This was my first Black mafia/organized crime book & it was so worth it. I’ll be reading more in the future

THIS BOOK CAPTURED ME FROM PAGE ONE TILL THE VERY LAST PAGE!
whoa! First off Demon is a mess! lmao just unaliving people and doing whatever he wanted to keep Dream- and i live for that! LMFAO ! First off this book made me look at my man and just get upset because why isn't he killing my neighbors for looking at me like Demon would for Dream?! LMFAO
Also the end of this book had me cheesing so hard because what a lovely epilogue?! Can we get a part 2? I don't mind another 700+ page book if it will literally pull me in as Demons Dream did!
