Clio, you BADDIE, you did it again.
First off, Learning more about Colt and Sarah and what happened in HS was heartbreaking.
Thanks for mending those pieces with the rest of this story!
Sammy being so sure of himself ALMOST all the time was beautiful.
The way these boys show their emotions is BEAUTIFUL!
Sammy's dad's bet, chefs kiss.
Jake and Davy having not 1 but 2 EXCELLENT male role models just inside the home, not counting the rest of the Harlow boys.
FUCK DAVID
FUCK THOMAS

Now, I am waiting on the edge of my seat for Hunter and Emma.

DID NOT FINISH: 44%

DNF at 44% - this one just wasn’t for me. It had a lot of potential but just landed flat. There is absolutely no tension or relationship build up and then all the sudden they are just in a ploy relationship with no real discussion about it. No real flirting or teasing or anticipation to get you invested. Both of the MMCs have know the FMC since childhood, one of them having been in love with her for over a decade and the other just one day decided he’s attracted to her and basically in love with her too. The MMCs have also know each other since childhood, very close family friends, and they too just randomly decide they are romantically interested and all in with each other. I just didn’t buy any of it.

Also this is very much not an interconnected stand alone. Not sure if that was a misunderstanding on my end due to TikTok comments lol or if it’s advertised that way. The serial killer plot from the first book (which I didn’t read) is heavily woven in due to Sarah’s ex husband being the serial killer's twin brother and it’s a part of the plot for this book. Unfortunately now I don’t care enough to go back and read the first since this one isn’t hitting the mark for me.

Just enough action and tension outside of the romantic plot to stand out and keep my attention
