This is the second book in the 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, but can be read as a standalone.

I liked Sarah’s character, and connected with her a lot. She’s such a strong, and hardworking woman. The way she loves her kids is heartwarming. I adore both Sammy and Colt, but Sammy is my favorite. I loved how silly he could be. This was my first polyamorous relationship book, and I enjoyed that aspect more than I thought I would. Would definitely recommend.

To say that Clio Evan’s is one of my favorite authors is an understatement. I absolutely love her writing and ALL of her books. For those unfamiliar with her work, Clio typically delights us with monster and alien romances, so when she released a book featuring just humans, I was instantly intrigued. Not only is it a human romance, but it also has a suspenseful twist! The way it's written keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I couldn't wait to see how it all unfolds.

“Stolen Chances” is the second book in the Citrus Cove series, which I highly recommend, alongside the first book. It picks up right where the previous story left off, with many characters grappling and piecing their lives back together after the dramatic events. We follow our FMC Sarah, who finds herself in a complicated situation with not one, but two MMCs: Colton Hayes and Sammy Harlow!

I loved everything about this book. Clio begins with a classic slow burn that ramps up the intensity and angst as Sarah navigates her feelings for both Sammy and Colt. Then, in a thrilling twist, they all let go of their apprehensions and dive in! The spice is definitely present, and you can truly feel the thought and research Clio has poured into the various scenes.

What excites me is how she skillfully researches and depicts her characters, the 🌶️ scenes, the intricate plot… it’s always phenomenal! There is so much going on here, from love and friends-to-lovers to second chances, mental health representation, and suspense. Plus, I was eager to see where the subplots go, especially with Colt and his dad. Those emotional moments have me on the edge of my seat!

I can hardly contain my anticipation for what’s next. I adored this book and can’t wait for the third installment! I’m dying to know more about this vibrant community and its fascinating residents! Thank you so much, Clio, for venturing outside your “norm” and creating such a slam dunk! The next chapter promises to be just as captivating!

This was good. It was just too insta-lovey. We all knew from Haley's book that these three were inevitable, and I was really excited to see them all finally get together. This was one of my most anticipated reads of the month, but everything just moved so quickly.

Obviously Colt has been in love with Sarah for forever and there's always been something between him and Sammy but Sammy had literally never had an interaction with Sarah until that night he takes her through the drive-thru and suddenly they're all confessing feelings for each other all over the place. Not to mention telling literally everyone immediately.

And I get it, this had a lot of suspense elements to it that made the romantic connections necessary, but I would've honestly rather had a story that focused solely on Sarah's healing. This poor woman and her kids didn't really need all this extra trauma.

I just wanted more romance. That's my biggest complaint. I wanted their love to be oozing off the page, and I wanted more sweet family moments. I am still cautiously optimistic about Hunter and Emma's story. Evans has said it's a bit more of a slow burn, so we shall see.

This book got me out of a slump so immediate +3 stars. I loved the why choose element and these characters from the first book. Sarah had beautiful character development along with both Sammy and Colt. I did find the conflict a bit far reaching and found myself wanting more. Not exactly sure what that would be but overall super good
