No OM/OW drama, does have a third act breakup, ends with a HFN. Some drama from her ex-husband and some deranged killers.

Small town romances are comfort reads. Crappy day at work? It's snowing? Need to get away from the chaos of the city? It all points to grabbing a small-town story and getting lost for the next few hours. While slowly easing into monster romance, I hadn't read Clio Evans. But who hasn't heard about her books?
So, when I saw she had written a small-town romance, I said, why not? OMG. I'm glad I picked up Stolen Chances because her writing blew my mind. It's suspenseful and scorching, and Colt, Sammy, and Sarah are THE absolute best. The character development is phenomenal, and so is the plot. There isn't a detail or a word without a purpose in the story.
I believe the Citrus Cove PD could better find leads and solve crimes, but that's where the Harlow family comes in. Seriously, they are a great bunch. The sense of family and standing for those you love, no matter what, permeates through the story.
Colt, Sammy, and Sarah might not be far from perfect, but the way they come to be and the development of their relationship certainly is perfect. They are sweet and kinky. There is trauma and hurt, but they rally around each other. Their communication is next-level.
My heart melted when I saw Sammy stepping up for Sarah's sons. Colt's thoughtful gifts might have made me shed a tear. Sarah's fierceness and strength are inspiring. I don't think I'll forget them any time soon.

This was a good suspense FMM romance and I enjoyed reading it.
I got an ARC of this without having read book 1 and I really would recommend doing that beforehand – it's promoted as a standalone but I was still left confused a lot of the time and I felt like I would've enjoyed it a lot more, had I read book 1 as well.
Poly relationships and kink/BDSM elements are often not something you see in small town romances and I was so happy to see them in this book! Relationships "out of the norm" shouldn't be something we can only read about in sex club or dark romances.
While I really enjoyed the beginning, the middle was a bit too slow for me, hence the three stars. Still, it was a good romance, I liked all the characters and it was overall enjoyable.
