Whilst I enjoyed the premises of this one, I didn't enjoy the writing as much as I has hoped nor the plot. Judes character was great and felt realistic. He was thoughtful but remained well written throughout. The others I cant say the same for.  Random information seemed to be added about characters that didn't add anything to the story after the first (and only) mention eg drug use and previous pregnancies or the main characters mums health or lovelife. I felt that these points could have been expanded on or removes entirely as it wouldn't have made any difference to the plot without.

I also had an issue with the ending as it did not feel resolved. There was still tension and unresolved discussions or plot holes regarding the baby, Sam's involvement and judes role.

Finally, the demonis8ng treatment of those who don't want children. I understood the issues the characters had with sam. He was irresponsible and immature as well as a bad partner. HOWEVER, the characters repeated many times how unfair it was tyqt he refused to be involved in the pregnancy even though he has repeatedly told the FMC how he never wanted children. I feel it was unfair on him to be expected to give up that stance as it would not have made him a better father. If anything it could have caused resentment or unhealthy relationships and him having boundaries felt kind of fair to me? I dont know. Regardless, this main characters deserved the right to change her mind and enjoy her baby and new life with or without a man.

I listened to this book on audio. I found it to be a soothing listen and an untraditional example of pregnancy.

This was a cute book. It was kind of slow and honestly boring, at first. For me, it didn't pick up until after the debacle with Jerome, Steph, and the MC, and after that, I was intrigued.
