Good pace and characters. But predictable ending and dilemma

3.5 stars. This was a lot of fun, though you can definitely tell it's an entry to a series. The pacing was a little off, especially in the last 20% where suddenly things happened very quickly. It was obvious it wasn't organic and more of a need to wrap things up. But the world this is set in is super intriguing and has a ton of potential. Looking forward to the next book!

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 4.5 such a cute book! This has been on my TBR for a bit, so i'm happy that I could get this read!

Easier to believe that every character is black american. Went through the entire series and despite character descriptions, the voices sound black. (This does not take away from the quality of the story, in fact it was the best part of the audiobook)

The story seems dry somehow and the men were annoying. The romances in the series develop in aggravating ways.

Not my favorite, just really predictable.
