I don’t know what it is with these witty little rom-coms I keep picking up but I really enjoyed this one.
The plot was pretty typical but it was such a light-hearted, fun read that I honestly didn’t even mind (I did mind the constant use of the word ‘mate’ though, ick).
I loved this entire casts of characters and I look forward to reading the next book in the series to get to know some of them a little more!
Uggghhhh. This book is all potential and then terrible writing. I'm sorry, I couldn't even finish it but at 50% I don't think it's going to get better and I can't spend my one wild and precious life reading books that make me want to throw them across the room. The concept has promise, the writing alternates between boring and enraging, the plotting is thin and the characters are flat AND irritating. All Lincoln does is smirk, call Violet "princess" and brood. All Violet does is fall down and contradict herself. It's both trying to be progressive and is full of regressive gender roles. And somehow the author has managed to make NYC, the most vibrant city in the world BORING and undistinguished.
Maybe the ending redeems it and if I ever go back and read it, I'll update this. But for now, read something else, maybe anything else.

Absolutely loved this world!!! Can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I didn’t expect quite so much of a political romance, but it was great.

I’m just going to say this didn’t make a huge impression on me. It felt like it took days to read. It wasn’t even a bad book, it had a good story & I love enemies to lovers, but I just didn’t like the writing. I had to make myself finish it, just hoping it would rock my world.
