This was way better than I thought it would be. It was everything I hoped The Ex Hex would be but wasn't. It had strong character development, great storyline, fun spice, and witty banter. Quick, fun read.

This was a very refreshing take on the paranormal romance genre. It reads like a contemporary romance wherein the characters just happen to be magical. Violet and Lincoln were childhood sweethearts. They had planned to runaway together when they were eighteen. Violet was the eldest daughter in a magical family with seemingly no magic herself, while Lincoln was the heir apparent to his wolf pack. Lincoln never shows on that fateful night and the two drift apart until reuniting as adults. Violet is now far less magical than she appears and Lincoln has been regretting their parting from all those years ago. Thrown together under the ruse of a fake relationship the two must figure out where they stand now and whether they are in fact each other's perfect match. With magical politics, family drama, and fun banter, Not the Witch You Wed is an easy recommendation for a variety of readers.

*sigh*
If I never hear the phrase "Hells Spells" again it'll be too soon
I found Violet so obnoxious and immature.
Link earned the few start I am giving this book

This was just the supernatural Rom-Com I needed right now.
Two star crossed lovers are re-connected by what appears to be accident as adults learn that trust is more important than love and what is meant to be is meant to be. As Violet has spent her whole life trying to avoid her families supernatural stardom and outdated rules and standards , Lincoln has spent his trying to change the the same rules. Turning this into a page turner of a love tale.
Hoping there are more stories that involve these two, their families and friends in the future as each character was loveable and easy to connect with...with the exception of the few you hoped would get their just due in the end.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I was going to. I'm not a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope in general, and it did grate a little on my nerves at the beginning of this book. But once we got further into the book and it transitioned into a fake dating trope, I really started to enjoy it. This ended up being a really fun and entertaining read for me.
The plot is a bit much. I had to suspend a lot of belief to make it work. There were so many moving parts and characters that it became a blur. I will also say that Violet did come off a little immature and definitely a "not like other girls" heroine. Because of course, her magic is ridiculously powerful and easily controlled within the short amount of time this book takes place over. There was hardly any struggle at all when it come to Violet becoming the next Prima and embracing her powers.
Some of the writing did feel off. For example, something that bothered me was that there was random bra cup sizes thrown in as descriptors throughout the book. The knowledge that Violet has a DD cup size is literally the first physical description we get of her. Cup size doesn’t really mean much without the band size. If you're going to throw in cup sizes as a descriptor, you might as well give the entirely of the character's bra size too. It just felt off, that the first thing we know about Violet is that she has a seemingly well-endowed chest.
I did love the world concept, where the paranormal and the humans live together in relative harmony, knowing of each other's existence. I especially loved that in addition to the witches, shifters and vampires, we get angels and demons as well. However, there was a lot of info dumping that also somehow didn't share enough for me to understand completely how this world works. I hope that the sequel builds up the world-building.
All in all, it was enjoyable read and I will definitely read the next book in this series whenever it comes out.

Absolutely loved this book! All about finding yourself and trusting yourself and that everything will fall into place when you can learn to do that. Loved the main characters, the side characters, the plot! Already grabbed the next two to devour!
