Not the Witch You Wed

This is absolute popcorn, cotton candy fluff. There are some hints of "danger" and such, but it's all taken in a very cozy-type style. It has so many of the tropes I absolutely adore. I took off one star because I felt the resolution to one of the main problems (that wasn't a relationship hurdle) was resolved too easily, while the relationship hurdle was not resolved early enough IMO.

However, the characters and their dynamics were wonderfully written. Very much wort the read if you're in the mood for a lighthearted, romantic, paranormal romp.

Fun and spicy. Sets up the other two stories well, although I read the second book first.

Hells spells this was so not it princess, the main characters were so annoying, it tried really hard to be quirky and fun but fall flat; the side characters were kind of interesting. The world building was so overwhelming but in broad strokes where you're kinda just left hanging and wanting more. It was dumb and cringey and not in a fun way. It also did not feel fully committed to the supernatural aspect, it felt like an easy way to flesh out the story/characters without doing much.

It was fine…. Read like a hallmark Halloween romance. The dirty talk was cringey though.

Overall, I really liked this story. I thought Lincoln’s character was great and. Joker really grew into her own by then. My only issue is there is a lot thrown at you without no real explanation. There’s a whole world of other beings and you don’t really get any background on that, just kind of dropped in the middle. Would have loved a little more world building but still a satisfying story!

No grand thoughts here as this was more of a modern rom-com style book.

But if you are looking for an adorable, fun, light & easy read with some quirky characters and a little bit of magic mixed in - I highly recommend this book!

Cute.

This was a fun and quick read with great characters and secondary characters. Not a lot of steam, but wonderful world building. I can’t wait to read book two.
