So I re-read this today, and I ended up with the same conclusion as last time: I wish there was a sequel for this. I don't care if its only a novella, I want it. I know this book has a perfect stand alone ending, but I would just like to see a little bit more of Caden and Summer. I found Summer and her stupid obsession with Kevin annoying at times, but I loved Caden and their relationship. So yeah, more Caden please?
Spoiler
(I mean seriously, after the amazing guy you love, have mind blowing sex with and want to be with announces he's in love with you, you don't put that on hold to check on your asshole stepbrother right? Right?!)
Tijan has done it again! Everything she writes is amazing. I was swooning over Caden
Omg... No one writes New Adult quite like Tijan! I fell in love with her when I read Fallen Crest High, practically asked her to marry me when I found out what a genuine person she was in real life, and now I think I'm about to buy her an island because she gave us CADEN! Bless herrrrr. *drops to knees*
New Adult is my favorite to write and my favorite to read. There's just something about that time in our lives, the discovery, college, the drama, all of it. It totally wraps me up, and Tijan has this unique flare to her writing that is like a quill signature. She writes these perfect bad boys, the misunderstanding between the main characters, all the angsty things I CRAVE. It's perfect!
Summer was hilarious. She just shined in this story. At first she was a little shy, a little awkward, and then she slowly started growing into herself and embracing the weird. I honestly think that should be a shirt she wore - #EmbraceTheWeird. It was such a joy to get inside her head and watch how her love and feelings toward those around her shifted once she really opened her eyes to who they were.
Caden... sigh, y'all. He is just YUMMY. I was in love with him almost from page one, but definitely halfway through and by the end I was just all heart butterflies and starry eyes. He makes me feel so GOOD. He's packed with feelings, and he's possessive and caring while also being smart and not just some hotheaded brute. I loved how he protected Summer and also asked her to look around more, to see what she was worth.
Them together... YESSSSS the angst! The little touches, the looks, the DOES HE LIKE ME IDK I CAN'T TELL haha I was so into it. I really wanted to die the first time they kissed, because it was just like fireworks in my hands (I had a paperback ARC because Tijan kind of wants to marry me too obviously). Every time they touched, whether it was steamy or sweet, I swooned. I love them together!
Another five star read from Tijan. We might as well just call her the NA Queen and bow down. I know I'd do so happily! :)

Points to be made before my review:
Squeee I got to read it before release!!!!!!
It's Tijan!
Omgoodness, Caden!
Now back to the regularly scheduled reviewing...
Anti Stepbrother by Tijan 5 ab licking stars, 5 tattooed bad boy licking stars, and a modest 5 take home the H and keep him forever in your bed stars....
I am not Tijan's biggest fan- I know this because I'm Facebook friends with people who are much better Tijan Stalkers, but I have loved every story of hers I have read. She just has a way with making you fall for her characters and keeping you up all night to finish her books. ( Ask my hubby by who was grumbling at 4 AM about the light from my kindle)
* When enthused about a new Tijan book, do NOT start reading at 11:50 PM. Especially if you know better, have work the next day, or need to function for your children. The more you know...*
Where to start, oh yeah, I freaking love step brother romances. They are like crack cocaine and dark chocolate...well actually I've never gone the cocaine route but you get me right? Anyway, apparently others are tired of the genre- me, never. I suck them up on my kindle faster than I could read them. But I digress because Caden is the anti stepbrother. Yes, you heard me- not her step brother.
Caden is a hot, muscled tattooed up Greek God of perfection. He has a bit of an attitude and he also happens to be an a**hole according to Summer. If that isn't enough to set your ovaries on fire, just wait because he will. He will liquify any and all reproductive organs in your body- service message number 2.
Sadly, Summer is that girl. The one who crushes on the douche in high school because he's SO pretty. Feels like it's gonna happen especially now that they live in the same house. She daydreams and the whole shebang...Yes, THAT girl. But as we all know, dreams do not make it reality.
Scene change, no longer running down memory lane...
Summer puts her big girl panties on and tries to get over the image of him screwing another girl against a wall- well practically. Storming into a wall of hot muscles...or as I previously mentioned, Caden.
You may not fall in a puddle at his feet at his opening line but...give him time to worm into your heart.
As I mentioned I am a fan of Tijan's work, but don't let that sway your view of my review. Anti Stepbrother has it all.
a cocky a**hole... you can guess who that is, you might be surprised
a confused young woman or two
a bit@hy skank who used to be friends
a sibling rivalry
first fights
and some seriously hot chemistry
Yeah, it's well rounded. So to those that love a fun, ovary liquifying good time. Pick up your copy today. Just know despite what, the name on the review says...Caden is mine. My name is totally Summer....once I get it legally changed...

I immensely enjoyed this and blew through it in a morning because I just could not put it down.
I was so into this book for 80% and then the drama just went out of control. There was a lot of drama all throughout, but I dealt with it. But that end drama was almost too much. 90% of it was unnecessary and very immature. Almost ruined this book for me. The base story-line was really good, just disappointed with the unnecessary stuff.
If you are a drama lover, then go for it, but be warned.

I liked Caden and Summer. Good story. Kevin pissed me off and Summer did a little as well in regards to him, but overall I still enjoyed it.
Eh. This one didn't do much for me. It feels like there's something missing, although I can't put my finger on what exactly that is. It also feels like there are a lot of unresolved problems and things left unanswered. I'm also not a fan of the progression of Summer and Caden's relationship. I wasn't feelin the chemistry and I didn't really see them as in love. In lust, maybe. Summer drooled over him for a while then suddenly she was all "omg I'm in love with him". It seemed like we were just being told they were in love but the author didn't do too great of a job actually developing the love and feelings.
"I want more than that. I want it all. You. Your laugh." He pressed a kiss to the side of my mouth.
"Your random idiocy that I find hilarious." A kiss to the other side.
"Your kindness." He moved down to my throat.
"Your strength." The other side of my throat.
"Your love, even when it's not deserved," he added. He lifted his head, his eyes finding mine.
"I want you." His eyes grew serious as he hovered about me.
"I love you, completely and wholeheartedly. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Okay, so I think I might be developing a slight obsession for Tijan's books. I mean I just read my second book from her today. Anti-Stepbrother is like the perfect story about how you don't always get what you think you want, but somewhere along the lines you can get what you need. So, this book is about Summer and Caden, but don't forget their crazy ass life, friends, and family.
Summer follows her stepbrother (and high school crush--ick!) to college with the disgusting delusion that they will fall in love together. Barf. Of course this is all due to them hooking up on her graduation night. Again, gross. On her first night on campus she goes to his fraternity house and ends up running into Caden. Oh Caden, he's arrogant, sexy as hell, popular, and just like every college frat guy: an asshole. It's a common theme in books.
Throughout the semester they keep running into each other and they soon develop a friendship. Of course Summer gets told by everyone that Caden doesn't do friendships with girls and he certainly doesn't care about freshman. At this point in her life, she only thinks they are friends because of her huge crush on Kevin (her stepbrother). Now Kevin is an asshole. He treats girls like shit and cheats on them constantly. Summer calls him a six-monther because that's when he has more than one girlfriend. Throughout her friendship with Caden, she starts developing a crush for him and finally starts forgetting about her disgusting crush on her stepbrother. THANK GOD.
Surprisingly, I liked this book. I couldn't put it down but that's only because I was hoping Summer would come to her senses and realize dating/sleeping (it was one time--but still, really?!?) is super gross and she needs to find a real man. I really liked her friendship/relationship with Caden too, especially with his brothers. Yes it took Marcus a longer time to open up to her, but hey Marcus wasn't perfect and he needed to fix his shit too. Then there was Colt, he is the twin brother to Marcus, and I LOVED HIM. I really liked his relationship with Summer because they are both socially awkward (which is completely relatable) and how they just clicked because they are sassy and weird. I loved it.
All the characters were written pretty well, except for Kevin--it took him a long time to get his shit together and I'm still not convinced.
GO TEAM CADEN AND SUMMER <3
