The second half of this story really picked up the pace and ended up really good. Will a more careful proof read before publication this would have been a 4 star book.

I've been meaning to read this for forever, and the opportunity presented itself when I signed up for the 2013 TBR Pile Challenge. What caught my attention when I first saw this book was the premise of an undercover agent falling in love with a high school girl, mostly because I just love all the heartbreak that situations like this bring.

Seth goes undercover as a high school student to try and bring down a ring of heroine drug dealers who started targeting and sealing drugs to teenagers. And Maggie is the poster child for heroin chick: too skinny, hair falling flat and dead from her head, sunk eyes with dark circles under it, and always wearing baggy and long-sleeved sweatshirts.

As they grow closer and the investigation progresses, Maggie's name comes up as one of the people who could be the FBI's missing link to catch the drug dealers. Seth is assigned to keep close watch and "become her friend", but his feelings for her and the certainty he has that she's not guilty soon get in the way, and what is an already complicated situation ends up becoming even messier. Especially considering the secrets both of them are keeping from each other.

The events are told in various POVs, so we get everyone's side of the story, and I think that's one of the reasons why I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. As nice as it was to read about different perspectives from different characters, some of the dialogue just seemed a little bit off to me.

Maggie and Seth's relationship was also a bit hard to relate to, considering how they go from Seth flirting and Maggie shutting him down to both of them being desperately in love with each other.

Overall it was an interesting book, enough to make me want to read the sequel, but there was nothing there that really caught my attention.

This was a great book. Very interested in reading the others in the series! Booker and Cole will be fascinating stories. I hope we still see Seth and Maggie in the subsequent books!

Unlovable is a hard one for me to rate. The 3 stars are still temporary. Once I have time to think about this one I'll write a short review and decide on the rating.

I am a sucker for the heart pounding love stories. This story was one of those ones that really makes you feel the passion and excitement of young love. It brought back all those feelings of a new relationship in a breathtaking way. Great story, can't wait to read the next one in the series!

Characters were either too perfect or annoying.

I'm somewhat divided about this book.
First of all, i admit that i had great expectations about it, and unfortunately the outcome of those high expectations, most of the time aren't pretty....

So...the story seemed really interesting and i was really looking forward to reading it, mainly because it was very different of what i have been reading lately, and i confess that Maggie's story catched my interest.

Bottom line, I liked Maggie, i liked reading about her. Her story was so sad, that if i could, i would have entered her story and would have removed her from her abusive mother.

Then enters Seth.
Prince charming Seth. He's an undercover police officer working for MET, a kind of narcotics agency.
Now... Seth is amazing, and is head over heels over Maggie.
Even before he really gets to know her. Sure he would see her in school where he was pretending to be a student, but that was it. No believable relationship development.

I would have liked to read more about Seth's undercover job. I would have liked to "see" him in that role. His personality needed to be more worked, because just knowing that he was a great guy, didn't cut it for me. Especially considering the enviromnent that Maggie comes from....

There were some parts where the story became a little boring. The balance could have been better.
Then when Seth and Maggie become a couple, for me there was just too much sappy comments. Too much: "I love your kisses....i love to kiss you...i want to kiss you..kiss me...".
I understand this route the author took. Maggie has been mentally abused and the author wanted to give her someone really sweet. And she did.
So maybe the problem is with me. Or maybe, it was just a little too much...

Oh, and one last thing that really bothered me. I didn't like the attempt to redeem Maggie's mother through the letters that Maggie will find. A person who writes those kinds of letters, would care if her child had broken her arm. Drunken or not. Some people you cannot place in a "gray area". Their place is in the black area. Unregenerate and unlovable. yes. You can say that alchool is a disease. Very well, i will give you that. But i believe that drinking just makes you loose your inhibitions showing you what you really are. Not transforming a good caring mother into a monster. Because the monster was there all along.

Nonethless all the problems above, i'm still curious enough to read the next books of this series.

I... did... not... like... this... book.

Trust me I wanted to. I read a lot of reviews that made it seem like a real winner but I just couldn't find the reason why.

I despised the dialogue, nothing seemed genuine to me.
The nicknames/insults were... well let's just say they got old fast. I mean after I read scum for the forth time in a paragraph I was over it. Oh and girlie... really that just rubbed me the wrong way.

I also didn't buy the characters, although I've never been a real big fan of instant head over heels, I'd give my life for yours, love. Perhaps because I've never experienced or know anyone who HAS experienced it!

There were so many times where I threw my head back and put the book down. I even said, OH GAG ME a couple of times.

The last book I read was about werewolves and if I were to tell you which one I considered more realistic I would have to say... keep your eyes peeled for people who turn into wolves when the weather turns cold!

I'm sure I could think of more to say but frankly I don't feel like spending another second on this book. Now quick help me find a wall so I can bash my head against it!

Loved it!

UPDATE:

looking back I don't think I did this book justice with my previous one line review. I loved the characters in this book so much, Seth was the sweetest most amazing guy anyone can have, and his friends were such great funny characters as well. The story was beautiful and touching with a sliver of action and loads of sweetness. perfect love story and a great book.
