Po ponownym przeczytaniu (2022): tak samo mi się ją dobrze czytało jak kiedyś. Ciekawie też było przypominać sobie historię gdy widziałam już tyle wersji filmów z różnie przekręconą, zmienioną fabułą. Pierwowzór jak zawsze jednak najlepszy. Chwyta za serce i wywołuje uśmiech. Jedynie wiara w tą magię była trochę naiwna ale w sumie to pasujące zachowanie dla dzieci.

Je ne vais pas commencer à parler de ce livre dans les détails.
Il faut savoir que le film (1993) a baigné mon enfance, et je le regardais tout le temps !!!
Je n'ai lu le livre que bien plus tard. Et forcément, avec des yeux d'adulte...
Je SAIS que il y a des choses pas correctes, pas expliquées. Que c'est un livre destiné aux enfants, et que donc, ça devrait être fait..
Mais je sais aussi que malgré ça, j'aime ce livre, j'aime cette histoire.
C'est important de savoir ouvrir les yeux sur ce genre de sujet, d'en parler. Et c'est important de pouvoir quand même aimer. Tout en étant conscient des choses, et en prévenant les autres.
Surtout les plus jeunes lecteur.rices !

You should know that the film (1993) bathed my childhood, and I watched it all the time !!!
I didn't read the book until much later. And of course, with adult eyes ...
I KNOW that there are things that are not correct, not explained. That this is a children's book, and therefore, it should be done.
But I also know that despite that, I love this book, I love this story.
It is important to know how to open your eyes to this kind of subject, to talk about it. And it's important to be able to love anyway. While being aware of things, and warning others.
Especially the youngest readers !

A childhood favorite of mine, and it was lovely to read it again. It was like meeting an old friend again.
This book is sweet, magical, and warm. Everything, and I mean everything is alive thanks to Burnett’s writing. The garden, the animals, the moors are all main characters too, and she writes them in such an energetic manner. You can’t help but feel that you are right there. You can feel the dirt, and you can smell the weather; it truly is a masterclass in writing.
Dickon, Mary, and Colin are so realistic as kids, and their character development did make sense. Watching Mary and Colin grow not only physically but emotionally was heartwarming.
Re-reading this as an adult made me believe in the “magic” again.
