I really like the premise of this series. There's something about the embassy life that has always intrigued me. I rather enjoy the plot and most of the characters. However Grace really annoyed me in this book. The whiney wo is me conversations/thoughts she had with herself were so overly dramatic and far too frequent that it took away from the enjoyment of the actual storyline. I get that she has to deal with her past and the things she did but boy does she need to move on. Will I read the next one...yes because this one was left with an awful cliffhanger but I really hope that Grace has grown up a lot.

The book was so intriguing and it always make me wonder, what's happen next?, it was very comforting knowing that the girl has more problems then I (no joke), all I can really say is that I love it.

Spoiler OOOHHH MMMYYYY GOOOSSSHHHHHH. basically what happens is Grace's brother, Jamie, comes back from West Point with his friend Spence. they go to a party on an island, spence kisses grace, alexei interrupts, spence & alexei get into a fist fight, jamie and grace break it up and go back to the embassy together. the next day, spence turns up dead and alexei is the one that everyone's blaming. what happened was that Spence's grandma was a part of the secret society or something and told him there was treasure. so he found out about it or something and was killed??? actually now that I think about it, they never figured out who actually killed him. but anyway- towards the end, jamie gets shot. and then grace is told that SHE IS THE LOST PRINCESS OF ADRIA. [because during this one night back in the day, the entire royal family was killed except for a baby (which the society saved). the baby ended up living and having children etc etc.]

Another novel that is filler. The ending is amazing, and parts of this novel were teases to how awesome this book could have been. Unfortunately, it was something to simply get readers from point A of book 1 to point B of book 3 with little to offer on it's on. The passages that drove the plot forward could have been easily split and added between the first and last book, making this series a duology.

I loved/hated reading a book with an unreliable narrator. It completely changes the game and gives the reader a pretty awesome/horrible experience.

I liked this book a little better than book 1, but I am not enjoying this series nearly as much as I have loved her others. I feel that even though things are happening in the book it doesn't get exciting until the last 100 or so pages. The end was very good though. Not only was there a twist I didn't see coming but it left it on quite the cliff hanger too.
