This book takes you from the callous chilly streets of London to the unforgiving drylands of Utah. I was fascinated by the depiction of the Mormons

The Utah sequence broke my heart and despite the revenge finally bearing fruit, I was not satisfied.Overall, it was a gripping tale. The final reveal was satisfying and I enjoyed it much more than the BBC show's adaptation of the same

in conclusion, Hope Jefferson remains to be the most dedicated man ever - didn’t even marry the girl and a) was initially willing to risk his life for her and b) then dedicated the 20 remaining years of his life to catch her killers?!

I've always adored Sherlock Holmes; however, all of my previous Holmes exposure has been via black and white movie, classic radio, recent films, and multiple different television series, none of which answered that one nagging question, "how did Watson meet him?" Now, having finally read the first story in the series, my question has been answered. Here's hoping that Holmes irritating ways don't drive Watson completely batty.
#Autumnthon. Este libro me lo compraron hace más de diez años y lo leí, pero como tenía 12, llegue a una parte que me parti y lo deje. Y eso que Sherlock tiene también una parte de mi corazón, así que hoy, año 2015 y con dos libros más del inglés detective, me anime a pescar este libro y darle la segunda oportunidad y dejenme decirles que lo primero que pensé fue "Oh my good! Es el primer capítulo de Sherlock!!" (BBC). Es que sí! Cuando iba sabiendo más del asesino, me recordaba ese capítulo y doy gracias que los creadores MArk y Steven hayan respetado al autor Conan Doyle y mis respetos por ellos y Benedict crecieron por hacerlo todo canonico que me cabrea los haters de la serie que perjuran que no respetan los libros. BLASFEMIA! XD
PD: Incluso mencionan en el libro que Sherlock no se conoce el sistema solar y me eche a reír porque me acorde de la serie XD y como todos le hacian bullying por eso XD

The journey into Mormonism was slow and boring, and honestly such an odd switch from detective work it felt like whiplash. It really took me out of the story, even though it did serve a purpose.

Dare i say better than the show? The show was amazing and modernised the story very well, but in doing so changed a lot of it — which is great for me, because i got to enjoy the book like it was new. also, surprisingly digestible.
