Whoo-eee! That was a smexy little number!
Impressive little short, as it never felt underdeveloped, giving a nice paranormal, plausible reason for Robert and Simon to get down and dirty.
Definitely an interesting way to start a series, this was fully evolved and cleverly leaving me wanting more.

4.5 stars. Spooky little story with an erotic twist. I felt completely immersed in the scene and the story felt complete despite its short length. I would love to read more about this couple though, and am glad to know there is subsequent books.

4.5 stars - This was a great spooky short story - I just wish there had been more! It's effectively just one scene and it's a very quick read, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading more by this author. I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction, especially in M/M. I guess that's a bit weird cos I'm a history graduate. I like to learn about it, but when it comes to my M/M fiction I definitely prefer a contemporary setting. Having said that, I'm totally going to make an exception for KJ Charles :)

I can see why people enjoy this series, but it's just not my cuppa.

I started to read just so I could understand the crossover novel, but it was really good! I'm invested, even if the first short was a little too short.

A recounting of the meeting of Caldwell and Feximal, over the haunting of Caldwell's property. Feximal is a ghost hunter. Caldwell House has a 200 year old unhappy ghost. Set in late 19th century.
Very clean writing, that set a scene well. The book is very short but does pack a punch and produce a good story.
10.1.18 reread : having read [b:Spectred Isle|35118935|Spectred Isle (Green Men, #1)|K.J. Charles|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1498437700s/35118935.jpg|56433653] recently which mentions these two (😢) I was put in mind to reread their story. And what a way to start the day!! Short but intense and keaving you wanting more.

A short, fast, well-written story that is mostly one scene, half of it sex, but which sets up two intriguing characters, leading into the two longer stories which follow it. This author truly knows how to write historical romance and sex that feels real, and vivid, not too modern and yet full of heat.
