"why should death stop us from living?"

with a haunting of hill house and coraline like atmosphere this book was destined to be incredible, however... the eerie and spooky like vibes made me interested in the story but it wasn't entertaining enough to rely on jus that. not much happened and I really struggled get through, it almost felt like a chore. the writing was beautiful and I can see why people are drawn to this, I wish I liked it more!

This book wasn’t really for me. At points it was a little dry and hard to follow. It was a little repetitive too. I didn’t care for the ghoul concept in the book. The other Gallant was a cool concept but I didn’t think that it was executed very well. It was overall a confusing book.

This was solidly fine. Decent writing as you would expect from Schwab. A spooky, mysterious story. Not the best thing I’ve read but not the worst by far. If you’re into gothic vibes and loner Wednesday Addams type heroines this might be your thing.

The writing was phenomenal but the actual plot was just... Lacking and dry

This was a work of art. I finished this bad boy in one sitting and ate it up. My only reason for five stars is because there are some things left unanswered and I feel there was no resolution. I’m not going to spoil anything but nothing changes from the start to the end. But this mystery/ thriller is going to be one of my first recommendations for the genre!
