As always, I can't write a review without fangirling about how much I love Ken Follett books. The Evening and the Morning was no exception. Watching the relationship between Edgar and Ragnhild change and blossom, both as a unit and within themselves as people was really good to see after the historical sweeping that was Colomns of Fire. But probably because it's just so similar, it made me reminisce on both the Last Kingdom and the Saxon Stories they're based onddAndI also appreciated mention of those characters in this one too. Really looking forward to the Armour of Light.

Kind of fun to read.

Disappointing, contrived and formulaic.
