Honestly other negative reviews sum it up great.
Positives: The book starts out strong, love the atmosphere, the setting and set up character interactions. Hunter and homer have a cool dynamic and contrast. If you leave the book at the end of there first the adventure in the tunnels you got a killer short story.

Negatives: I love a strong female protagonist and Alexandra is not one at all but had so much potential to be. I read 60s scifi books written by old white dudes im familiar with a story where a author doesnt understand women are people too but she was just so ridiculous and spineless while being absolutely boring. All of that despite her having a cool classic hero journeys beginning.
Her falling in love with a older man character she just meet and wanting to change him despite the fact that everything she wants him to change is literally who he is and him constantly confirming that by saying edgy shit. A "love triangle" so unnecessary and eats up so much plot. The book just oozes sexism and doesn't even have the decency to have a interesting plot to make up for it.

I hate writing negative reviews I love this setting, I love the games (To be fair they are sexist too but make it up a bit by mostly ignoring female characters and making you fight mutant bears.)but i hated this book.

The memory of a man can last for longer than his skeleton, but when the last of those who still remember us departs, we dissolve into time with him.

This was a lot slower than the first book, but I still had a great time listening to it and I do believe it was mostly due to the narrator. He's amazing. I was engaged with the story mostly because I was curious as to where everything was leading, but there wasn't much transition between the characters so it could get a little difficult at times. The existential crisis theme was great. Love things like that in my post-apocalyptic books.

Uffff I was rarely that relieved when I could press the „I finished the book“-button. This felt like it was going on forever and I had to force myself to keep listening. 90 % of sequel is pointless and boring and the other 10 % don’t make up for

Err, I'm a bit disappointed. I wanted this book to be as exciting and interesting, but it wasn't. The ending was confusing and crumpled. I didn't really like Sasha. I maybe liked Leonid a little bit. Hunter was rather interesting, but too grumpy and also very, very confusing.

But! I must say that the pacing of the book was fast and the author's writing style is rather poetic and beautiful.

I don't know, I don't regret reading this book, but I didn't enjoy it that much. Meh. Don't even wanna say anything more about it.
