Too slow and not interesting enough to keep reading. Maybe not in the right headspace to read a middle grade

A really vibrant, warm twist on Red Riding Hood, where Hamra is reminded multiple times of the dangers, yet skips into the nearest dragon’s yawning mouth going ‘Oh wow, what is this hot squishy wet cave with huge white tooth shaped rocks?.. Whelp… I’m sure it’s nothing dangerous’ and settles down for a nap!
It was like an old school famous five book with the warmth, detail and intrigue packed into every page.
