I didn’t agree with a lot of the choices the main character makes. The topic is interesting but, to me, it all seemed very cheesy and cringey.

I have to say I’m quite disappointed in the plot line of this novel. To write a fictional account of a school shooting victim that is so similar to a victim from Columbine seems quite distasteful. I can’t imagine the family of this young lady would feel pretty violated to know this novel existed.

A tough but compelling read about the aftermath of a school shooting. I read this in a single day.

The author gives her readers food for thought as we examine disasters in the aftermath. What is the truth vs what makes a good narrative? Read my review at Bookish Adventures.

3.5. This is a lot better than the other school shooting aftermath book I read this month so props to my student for recommending. The “suspense” of what the big secret is falls a bit flat, but that small town feel is pretty real and the characters feel genuine, if thin. Pretty broad representation, although they largely sound and feel the same.
