I told myself I wasn't going to binge it and then I did... oops
I feel weird giving volumes 1-3 all 4 stars, but I don't think I like any of them enough to rank a 5 but none are "just average" at a 3. So, they're all 4 stars. But if I rank them, I'd say volume 1 was my favorite, then volume 3, and finally volume 2.
I think my biggest issue is just how confusing it all is. There's so much happening and so many characters and sometimes I'm not clear who is who (some of the Inquisitrix look similar) and I don't know how is an actual person vs who is a vessel for a mostrum. I also don't understand the backstory of why and how these old gods are in people while Zinn and Maika have a slightly different setup. I hope this is all clarified in the next volume. I think some of the more confusing moments are actually flight scenes. For example, the last fight scene in this volume with Gull. I don't really understand what happened between Gull, Maika, and Zinn. Like how did Maika suddenly gain the upper hand?
Besides the overall confusion that I hope will clear up with time, I again, love the artwork and amount of detail on every page. I especially love the cover pages, they are amazing and I feel like I can stare at them all day. One additional bonus part of the volume 3 that made me like it more than volume 2 was that it had so much more character development. I love love love the character development in Volume 3. Zinn gets more of a back story, he takes on more of a personality. I also like Maika much more. Even with her tough exterior, you know that she reall does care about her friends. Still Kippa is my favorite haha. Even though Ren is kind of working for other shady cats, I also feel that he also loves Kippa and Maika as well.

This series continues to impress me. Awe might be a better word. I am in awe of the writing and art alike.
I am just gonna rate the graphics novels from here instead of writing a full review because I do not want to spoil anything. Kippa has become my favorite character and her development along with Maika's has been so beautiful to see. Highly recommend this series!

This was awesome! My favorite volume of the series thus far.
A lot happened in this one, tons of action and some cool new locations. I loved the city of Pontus and the shaman-empress’s laboratory. The big battle towards the end was wild and so expertly illustrated. I’m also loving that Kippa is getting a bit of her own story!
I’ve gotta be honest, I’m still unclear on all the factions and who belongs to which one - Professor Tam Tam’s info dumps are supposed to be helpful and I like the idea of them but for whatever reason, my brain just shuts off when I’m trying to read them. They are very text heavy and I find it hard to switch gears when I’m in the middle of reading a graphic novel. I think some additional visuals along with the info dumps would have been better!
