This story just keeps getting better. I'm still dealing with a lot of confusion (I'm having difficulty keeping characters straight and the aims/goals of the different "groups), but I think the next time I read through I'm going to make a cheat sheet which should help. I feel like this would be easier for me if I read a lot of high fantasy, but I don't so it's a bit of a struggle. It's not deterring from my interest in the series, though.

oh Kippa run now!!!

This whole series is fantastic. The story is good and the art is better. I've never see anything quite so disturbingly graphic and gruesome and simultaneously so freaking gorgeous.

This book in one sentence: Maika reluctantly makes allies and learns more about her past.
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Steaminess: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (not sure how to rate this? there's not really much romance, but there are background sex scenes at times)
My recommendation: I am so in love with this series and if you aren't reading it yet, you probably should. The artwork is amazing. The world building is so detailed and complexe and unique. The characters are engaging and nuanced and flawed and the dynamics between them are great. Each volume contains so much story and information and the plot is really faced paced, especially for a graphic novel.
Content warnings: trauma and so much violence... this is definitely an adult fantasy series and it's not for the squeamish.

The art.

The last two volumes are arriving in the mail and I plan on rereading 1-3 because there are story threads that are getting woven together more and more and I don't want to miss a thing.

I feel like I can't give it a thorough review because I haven't completed the whole story.
The final review of the series will be found on Volume 5.

I can't wait!!!

The series matures into an epic confrontation between all god and warring factions. Amazingly detailed art is still the standard of this series. Huge improvement from previous story arc.

I've stated in my previous reviews for this series that the art is undeniably beautiful - the artists are extremely talented and art style is intricate and detailed.
However, I had absolutely no idea what was going on in this volume. The plot has always been convoluted but in this volume, to say I've lost the plot is an understatement. I'm not sure what happened or what direction the story is going. Unfortunately, the very detailed art didn't help - it was too dark and I couldn't see what was happening. There was a lot going on, visually (and the graphic gore made it messy) and storywise, to the point where I'd have to read the same panel multiple times and very slowly to grasp everything that was going on.
I'm more confused than ever as I feel like too much was trying to be achieved but they didn't quite hit the mark.
That's it for me with this series.

Amazing continuation of the story. There are new characters, the relationship between Maika and Zinn finally becomes more stable and loads of things are happening.

I didn't refresh my memory of the first 2 ones, so a few details confused me but also there is still alot of mystery in the story.

I cannot wait for the 4th volume to come out next year.

Wasn't as good as the first two.
