Devastating, hard, peaceful, relentless, beautiful.
There is so much darkness in the world McCarthy has etched, and yet wandering through it with Papa and The Boy has been peaceful. Each moment is entirely its own. Each moment is all there is.

Bleak, sad, and violent; so a McCarthy book. This is my least favorite McCarthy book. I think he was trying to use a certain style to give the story its structure, but it is just not for me. Go and read Blood Meridian, it is so much better. This book probably for a prize when other have not because it is easier to read, shorter, and nihilistic.
