This book does a great job capturing what it's like to live with a disability in the world and interacting with able-bodied people. Johanna uses humor to tackle the hard stories in their life and doesn't mince words when dissecting the ableism that's common around us in society. I think anyone who has a disability will find something that resonates with them in this book.

Like many other readers, this book lost me a few chapters in.

What an incredibly smart collection of essays on disability justice, ableism, and care. Hedva's writing is sharp and alive and irreverent. The book’s exploration of the social constructions of dis/ability and the manifold ways that capitalism undermines our ability to care for ourselves and each other is so compelling (and enraging). So many of the essays pushed me to think more expansively about what care is and what it can be, how ableist the world is and the many ways ableism shows up, and things each of us can do to advance the disability justice movement.

I really found the content interesting but because I listened to the audiobook Johanna’s voice felt a bit too relaxing and monotonous at times and I got distracted or zoned out completely.
