TW: bullying, ableism, internalised ableism, death of a parent, murder, trauma nightmares, attempted sexual assault, past mentions of assault
While the plot was formulaic and the big twist could be called ten miles off, I still enjoyed having a disabled protagonist come into her own and find her loving and accepting community. ❤️

YA historical adventure/ retelling
"We won't let you fall."
I'm only upset that I haven't read this sooner.
This book has some of the most memorable disability representation and characters I've read in awhile. Tania is our disabled protagonist and she has POTS. POTS is Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome some symptoms are dizziness, fast heart rate, blurred vision, and fainting. (The author also includes a note about POTS at the end and where to go to seek more information.)
Tania is solving her father's murder, uncovering an assassination plot, training to be a musketeer, and living her life with POTS. And she does a very kickass job at that. This story is a feminist retelling of the three musketeers and I must say it was giving everything I wanted out of it.
Besides Tania, the side characters are unforgettable. I loved seeing what Portia,Aria, and Theá bring to the musketeers. Their support and love for Tania is *chefs kiss.*

I feel like this book has a lot of promise, but suffers from the author's tendency to explain every single solitary thought and experience of the MC's, which became beyond tedious. I adore the concept, and some of the plot points - and I am eternally here to support a disabled writer giving us a disabled MC - but some edits would do a world of good and would take this story from decent to delightful.
